"I wonder where everyone could've went." Mark thought as he sat on his couch waiting for everyone to knock on his door.
Earlier that day, he invited every youtuber he knew to his house just for a small get together. He thought he should throw one since the site was going to be down for a while.
"Bob and Wade didn't even come," he thought. "Why?"
The more he thought about it, the more he felt unwanted and worthless. Soon after he let his thoughts consume him, he stopped thinking and just watched as the time slipped away.
It's been an hour since the gathering was suppose to start and he has finally decided to give up. He put away all the food and drinks as tears filled up in his eyes.
Once all of the equipment was put away, he heard someone knock on the door. He ran towards the door, hoping it was Jack, Wade, or Bob, but he stopped in front of the door, doubt consuming his mind.
"What if it was somebody else? What if I'm so lonely, my brain just plays tricks on me?"
He heard another knock on the door.
That person was definitely a girl. Of course, he didn't know who she was or why she was here
“Maybe it was Susie?” The sudden thought made him more excited than he should be. Because of that he swung open the door with smile on his face, but it soon disappeared once he realized who was at the door.
"Sorry. I would've been here earlier if I didn't get lost." she chuckled.
Mark was speechless. He didn't know if it was a prank or a mistake.
"I overheard Bob and Wade talking about a get together for youtubers and how they weren't gonna go-"
Hearing that made his heart shatter. Because he didn't want the girl to see his masculinity slowly fade, he slammed the door.
"what the hell?" he heard her whisper.
All he could do was cover his face and cry as his back slid against the door.
"Mark? Are you ok?" she said while knocking once more.
He tried to cover his sobs but she clearly knew that he was crying. She knew Mark needed the help but she just didn't know how it help him.
"I am going to kick their ass when I see them." the girl whispered.
"Mark? You don't have to open the door just...hear me out ok?" she said calmly.
Nothing was said from either one of them for a while. Finally, a sigh was heard from the girl.
"I know what it's like. To just want to do something for everyone but in return they just give you...this. I've done it many times before."
His sobbing became quiet.
"And that's why I came. I didn't want you to be alone." she said quietly.
After a few minutes of silence, the girl began to walk away from the door. A few tears fell from her face as she walking.
Mark heard the footsteps and began to open the door.
"Hey." Mark weakley cried.
The girl turned around to see Mark nervously rubbing the back of his head.
“I’m sorry. I’m just...really, really tired and-”
He was interrupted by a hug, which made him tear up some more.
“There’s no need to apologize. Like I said, I’ve been there more than once.” she laughed “Now, I want you to stay right here while I go to the store and get some ice cream, ok?”
Mark wiped his eyes and nodded.
“Ok. I’ll try to go as fast as I possibly can.” She said as she walked away.
Mark shook his head and chuckled as he heard her whisper “gotta go fast”.
10 minutes later, Mark heard a knock on the door. He slowly walked to the door and opened it, hoping that it was the same girl from before.
“I forgot to ask you which flavor you wanted and I didn't know which one you would liked so I bought all of them.” She said out of breath.
Mark….didn't know what to say. He was surprised that she even came back.
“Well….are you gonna let me in? The ice cream’s gonna melt if I don't put this in the freezer” She laughed.
There were soon hours and hours of laughing, watching movies, and telling stories.
“So, you literally used butter? As if it was hair grease?” She said trying hard not to laugh.
“I know.” He said as his head fell in disappointment. “I don't even have an excuse for it.” He smiled
After a few more laughters, the room was filled with silence (and the sounds of spoons hitting ice cream cartons).
“What's your name?” Mark suddenly asked
“Why...I mean, I’m not trying to be rude but…why?” she said curiously
“Well, I just wanna know who's gonna kick Bob and Wade’s ass.” He laughed
“...it's Caroline.” She said with a smile.
