Spoiler Alert: Old White Guy Running For Office Gives His Sh*tty Opinion That No One Asked For
There’s been a lot of long over due debate and discussion surrounding sexual assault and harassment against women finally being had as of late, some good, some bad, some indifferent, and some just out right stupid. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal people are finally beginning to realize that people in positions of power will use their power to abuse and exploit others, and quite frankly, people are f*cking sick and tired of it so they’ve been rightfully naming names to put a stop to this abuse once and for all!
Women are finally getting the courage to speak out against their abusers, and for once people are actually listening...but don’t get it twisted being believed is a whole other ball game it still took at least 5 women to share their stories together to take down Louis CK. Naturally, men learning about all their white heroes being the monsters women have long said they were is a traumatic experience, and a lot of men are sharing their utter shock and disbelief that men can be so sh*tty on social media (shocking I know). And since the bar is so low right now that people are literally praising the predators just for admitting they are in fact predators.
But with all this sexual harassment and assault scandal overflowing our social media and news it can get hard to make heads or tails with what to do with all this new information. But don’t worry, there’s a white guy in Ohio running for governor who knew EXACTLY what to do with all these reports of sexual assault/harassment coming out, by posting on Facebook bragging about all the women he’s f*cked in his life! That’s right! A white guy named, Bill O’Neill who’s currently an Ohio Supreme Court Justice and actively campaigning for Governor of Ohio as a Democrat (hey dems remember when you said there was no litmus test to being a democrat? ya maybe rethink that one okay?) decided the best thing to say in the wake of all these reports of sexual misconduct is to publicly boast about the number of women he’s boned AND identified a couple of the women stopping short of saying their full names...
When it comes to sex crimes the last thing any one needs is for a dude on the internet to give their opinion, because news flash, it’s 99.99999% sh*tty, awful, irrelevant, and unsolicited, and Bill O’Neill proves all of that many times over in his now deleted Facebook post. In fact, O’Neill’s post was so sh*tty it caused his own campaign spokesman to quit announcing his resignation via Twitter. Caption hot take O’Neill tried to rebut his deleted post by writing a new post which only made things worse in which he defended Senator Franken, claiming groping a woman is just an “indiscretion” and then brought in Anita Hill’s name for no gad damn reason at all, right before ending it with “lighten up folks”. Oh, and obviously O’Neill bragged about his career accomplishments in the followup apology but not an apology post.
Now, we as a society do have to figure out how to process and handle the various claims of sexual harassment, assault, and misconduct, and punishing each predator appropriately. We also do have to figure out if any persons are capable of redemption, which won’t be an easy thing to do and will probably take a long time before we can forgive and then move on in the same day/week/month/or year. But one thing is for sure, having sh*t for brains men like Bill O’Neill in their positions of incredible power is part of the problem and how we got to where we are in society. People and men like Bill O’Neill need to be replaced ASAP and preferably with a woman because until women get appropriate representation in all fields, business, govt, entertainment, etc., the abuse of women will only continue.
