With her affirmation, he enters through the mirror, & once on the other side, he waits until she’s fully through the mirror herself. Afterward, he grasps the key in the middle of the mirror, pulling it away & closing the portal. He returns the key to his chain, & steps over to the side of the building. The outside seems fairly torn, but there’s not exactly missing pieces, aside from broken windows & battered wood. When he speaks, his voice is low, as to help prevent his sisters from hearing. “ Wait here, my sisters are inside. You’ll be able to listen in by the broken window. They won’t leave through this mirror, they like the flat one they can jump into. When they leave, I’ll come by to tell you so you can come in. “
The darkness & the excessive amount of bushes will offer plenty of hiding availability for her. &, he trusts her enough to believe she can handle herself. His family might have an advanced skill in tracking, but he’s inherited his mother’s charm. He then walks over to the front door, entering into the room.
His sisters had greeted him, Jynx clearly upset about something. She mentions how ‘the screams finally stopped’, & how ‘the aura is still so full of pain.’ Miseris asks where the humans are, & she mentions that their father took the humans on assignment. Hayze makes various comments on how he shouldn’t care about them, & Jynx makes a point to remind her how they all experienced what they did too. But, Jynx gets caught up in her words, & Miseris opts to wrap his arms around her, pull her close to him & press a kiss to her forehead. He might lack most talents of other people, but he knows his sister’s pain, & he wouldn’t want her focusing on it too long.
Hayze was the first to leave, crediting boredom when she turned to swirling colours in the air, & disappeared once outside, right into a mirror in the ground. Jynx, it took more convincing, with Miseris promising he’ll be alright on his own, quoting his ‘excessive capabilities’ for the reason. Jynx didn’t turn to her powers, opting to walk out instead, &, opting to actually choose the location the mirror would end up. There’s a minuscule sound, & Jynx briefly looks to the side, seeming to take notice of something; but, she simply leaves through the mirror, anyways.
It was a minute & a half after Jynx left the hideout & started walking to the mirror, right after she disappeared, that Mason steps by the window, breaking the silence with words. “ Clear now. Sorry for how dark it is out there. As I mentioned before, we’re not exactly allowed above ground. Would be too much of a risk. The door’s open. “
[ S ] / she hears them speaking with one another, one of them obviously rather regretful of whatever it was they were doing in there. although she was paying close attention to the voices to ascertain whether they were coming her way, siobhan couldn’t really understand what it is they were discussing. considering mason’s demeanour, she’s already deduced that it isn’t something ... good, not that they’re ever up to any good. but, it’s likely something much worse, or has recently escalated to a worse level of action if he was actually ... guilty ( ? ) about something.
although she wished to peek in through the window she was crouching below, mason had warned her that besides his sisters, there might be others she’d better watch out for. so, her hearing is attuned to them inside while her sight is focused on whatever movement she’d catch. the darkness is no issue to her. although her serpentine abilities are not as great as that of her brother, siobhan hadn’t lost out on the infrared vision; everything going from normal darkness to an indigo background and shadows turning into fuzzy blue shapes. the only thing radiating red and orange shades was herself.
as soon as the first of the sister announced her departure, siobhan quickly spotted the nearest bush to blend into if she so chose to exit the way she and mason came. coming with her own ability to open portals ( in an entirely different fashion that mason and his siblings utilised ), still she could sense when one was opened and closed; the atmosphere crackling as it’s done.
it was the second sister’s turn to go a couple minutes later and by that time, siobhan had chosen it best to hide between two of the thicker bushes nearest to the building, folding her legs and pressing her knees to her chest, arms wrapping around herself, essentially making herself as small and blended in as possible. if any sound were to be heard ( as evident by the sister’s quick glance towards her hiding spot ), it was the slight turn of her head causing the branch on the bush to shift as she watched her go, waiting until she’d gone completely through and only emerging when mason called for her.
“ i could see just fine. ” simply put as she stood up straight, brushing herself off and taking even strides towards the door. wary of what exactly this place kept locked up, she didn’t yet discontinue her altered sight. it would be easier to spot a trap or another person in the room that way.
“ what the hell is this place ? ”
