I always get so fucking mad when I remember that itās actually a 16-year-old Algerian girl who influenced BOTH Picasso and Matisse. and. No one gives a ratās ass about her work which was very focused on women and nature. History -or people dare I say- didnāt bother to remember her name because she was a young Algerian woman and no one cares about Maghrebi/Arab women. unlike P*casso & M*tisse who both became legends, almost gods both during their lives and after their deaths, no one knows her.
Her name was Baya Mahieddine.

History teaches us that there cannot be peace between the rich and the poor, between millionaires and workers. Historical experience teaches that there are only two alternatives: either the rich exploit the poor or the poor free themselves by wiping out the wealth of the millionaires.

A History of Gay Films Being Snubbed by the Oscars Up Through Moonlightās Stunning, Historic Upset
Including Rebel Without A Cause, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Paris Is Burning, Happy Together, Brokeback Mountain, Milk, Pariah, The Imitation Game, Carol, and finally Moonlight.
Donāt forget La La Landās whitewashing and straightwashing, Emma StoneĀ and Ryan GoslingsāĀ contact with whitewashing,Ā the erasure of the gay history behind Rebel Without A Cause. Also rememberĀ films like Blue Is the Warmest Color, Tangerine,Ā Pride,Ā The Handmaiden, Love Is Strange, A Single Man, and countless others that have fallen through the cracks, though some have won, and finally, how Moonlight beat a movie that was always going to look like this.

alright im just gonna say it⦠the american revolution was one of the worst revolutions and was less of an actual revolution rather than one colonial power splitting from another colonial power over fucking taxes
weāve talked about this so much in my history courses likeā¦. literally all the American Revolution was about was changing who got the profits for what. and a large part of the feud that came to be was because Britain was in the process of distancing itself from the slave trade but the American colonies refused it was 100% a political revolution and not a social revolution, the founding fathers were horrified of democracy and created the electoral college because they didnāt trust āmob ruleā. they never really believed in democracy and a lot of John Lockeās dumbass spent time writing pieces trying to poorly justify the exploitation that was taking place in the New World by crowing about āfreedomā and ālibertyā (oddly enough he never explicitly stated he wanted a democracy he said commonwealth, meaning monarchies were šš½šš½ in Lockeās book)
American ādemocracyā has never not been about capitalistic imperial gain for the elites and exploitation for everyone else
ur 100% right like the founding fathers had no problem with slavery and a lot of them wanted us to have even less democracy in the governmental system than we have now and we still dont have shit, like it was never about liberty or democracy and was pretty much about expanding capital
btw, it wasnt taxes that finally pushed american settlers over the edge, it was the fact that britain said they couldnt expand westward anymore. Taxes were a minimal factor. Whats worse is i see white leftists talking about how the american revolution was anti-colonial! Lol, no, america is and always has been a country bent on settler colonization.
yep! the proclamation line of 1763 forbade colonists from settling over the appalachian mountains. but the Trump Organization of its time, The Ohio Company, had made speculative investments on land in what is now Ohio. Guess whoās fortunes were wrapped up in the Ohio Companyās ability to return profit to him and other shareholders like Benjamin Franklin, and who would have lost that investment to the British Proclamation Line?
I love this new trend of exposing Congress(wo)men and the amount they get from certain industries for each horrible bill they pass
Denial (2016)
Charity in capitalist society only feeds the notion that the existence of the rich is beneficial to all which obscures the fact that the wealth of the rich comes at the cost of exploitation of the poor
apparently science only works on white ppl
The tremendous change in womanās position, wrought by that mighty factor, is indeed phenomenal when we reflect that it is but a short time since she has entered the industrial arena. Six million women wage-earners; six million women, who have the equal right with men to be exploited, to be robbed, to go on strike; aye, to starve even.

You should know: George Michael was a fierce, fierce advocate for gay rights. His 1998 outing is a perfect capsule of what gay men have had to endure
Michael began his career as the singer for Wham!, along with former schoolmate Andrew Ridgeley, in the early 1980s. The group had hits with āWake Me Up Before You Go-Go,ā āCareless Whisper,ā and the enduring āLast Christmas.ā And throughout his career, heās always been unfailingly sex positive ā before it was cool.
