Agent Norman Jayden, FBI
*Heavy Rain Spoilers*
It had so much potential to be such an intriguing story, and dont get me, wrong it was still good, but I found upon completing the story some plotholes are just far too glaring. Obviously the narrative wanted the player to believe Ethan was the origami killer, what with his blackouts and waking up with the origami figures in his hand. Except this doesn't come to fruition with Scott being revealed to be the killer instead, once again from a point of intentionally deceiving the player.
The twist of Scott being the killer had so much potential to work, but its at this point I feel being able to hear the inner thoughts of some of the characters works against the plot. Additionally, Scott's behaviour can change depending on the players choices, but I personally played him as someone quite caring in every instance he could, so the reveal made no sense for that particular version of the character I feel. The specific fixation on investigating the Kramer's was never also explicitly stated. There's a few options to somewhat explain it away, but none that I believe fully work within the canon of the story.
Its in desperate need of a remaster anyway with quite a few tweaks to the story (and that God awful voice acting) but still enjoyable.
Ethan Mars as a main protagonist (because thats what he truly just is) is so compelling.
Outside of small criticisms Madisons entire story needs reworking. You can really tell that she's being written by somebody who doesn't have... the fondest view of women.

shoutout to the scene in promare where the big deus ex machina of the movie is introduced and the scientist guy goes "it's called... DEUS EX MACHINA" and then DEUS EX MACHINA appears onscreen in big bold letters

The whole idea of Hawkeye, Mustang, Ed, and Al being a kind of pseudo-family unit will never not be both hilarious and adorable. Ah yes, Mr. and Mrs. War Crimes and their not-children, the unstoppable force and the immovable object.
