Day 546 - Fortifications on Flickr.
28/6/12 - Malta has a LOT of History and there are walls and turrets al over the place, this one was over looking the Grand Harbour.
Day 545 - The Malta Bus Company on Flickr.
27/6/12 - Some of the Buses in Malta are really cool, It reminds me of Cuba with all the old style cars. A lot of the buses were once owned by the drivers and so they were well looked after and often customised with shiny chrome and various amazing paint jobs, quite amazing.
Day 544 - Cephalonia on Flickr.
26/6/12 - This is the waterfront at Argostoli, the main town in Cefalonia, I liked it here, it was hot, clean, friendly, happy and welcoming, all the things that make a good port.
Day 543 - Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute on Flickr.
25/6/12 - The Basilica of St Mary of Health stands at one end of the Grand Canal and you sail past on when entering Venice by ship, here is it with St Marks Bell tower and St Mark's Basilica in the background.
Day 542 - The Drawing Room of Europe on Flickr.
24/6/12 - St Marks Square in Venice was apparently described by Napoleon as the Drawing Room of Europe, it is a fascinating place. On the day I was there someone told me that 2 cups of coffee cost them around £50, they said its something you have to do at least once . . . WHY??? in my eyes, only an idiot would spend that on a coffee when its only a couple of quid round the corner.
Day 541 - Grand Canal on Flickr.
23/6/12 - Here I am on top of the Ponte dell'Accademia over the Grand Canal in Venice with Nat.
Day 540 - Ponte dell'Accademia on Flickr.
22/6/12 - Here is one of the bridges over the Grand Canal in Venice, I like this bridge, its totally different from the built up Rialto Bridge.
Day 539 - Scala Contarini del Bovolo on Flickr.
21/6/12 - This is one of those really impressive buildings which takes ages to find because its tucked away down some tiny little alleyway, I am surprised anyone finds this while visiting Venice. It is a Palace built by Giovanni Candi in the year 1499.
Day 538 - Campanile di San Marco on Flickr.
20/6/12 - The first walk into St Marks Square is always awesome, its usually packed with tourists bustling around all over the place, queues everywhere BUT its always amazing. Venice is one of the few places in the world where the sound of people outweighs the sound of traffic.
Day 537 - Ponte dei Sospiri on Flickr.
19/6/12 - The Bridge of Sighs, so called because it joins the interrogation rooms to the prison cells and its the noise the prisoners make when they get their last view of Venice through the little windows.
Day 536 - A Bridge to Far on Flickr.
18/6/12 - There are some amazing buildings in Venice, this photo was taken on the short journey from the port to St Marks Square.
Day 535 - Venice on Flickr.
17/6/12 - Sailing into Venice on a cruise ship has got to be one of the most amazing things to do in your life, I know that because its in the book '100 things to do before you die'. I love Venice, its so . . . so . . . Venetian.
Day 534 - One more Turret on Flickr.
16/6/12 - Another turret on the city walls, this one was further along the walls towards the harbour.
Day 533 - Cityscape on Flickr.
15/6/12 - This is the walled city of Dubrovnik from the top of the eastern wall. ahead lies the Adriatic and behind me over the mountains lies Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Day 532 - Pirates on Flickr.
14/6/12 - There were a couple of these old looking ships heading into and out of Dubrovnik Harbour, its a shame that they have probably never used their sails and just rely on their engines to travel the short distance around Dubrovnik
Day 531 - Return Visit on Flickr.
13/6/12 - I was last in Dubrovnik just 2 years ago and I stopped to take a photo of this structure on the city walls, I decided to take another photo to see how it compares 2 years on, I have done a little more editing on this one.
Day 530 - Dubrovnik on Flickr.
12/6/12 - Dubrovnik has to be one of my favourite places in the world, I was here in about 1986 before the war and its good to see the city and surrounding areas rebuilt and back to how I remember.
