quite honestly a big fan of gordan NOT being the “good guy”. like idk in my perception he isn’t good. like hes just a player, and he disregards the ais’ feelings a lot. TO BE CLEAR this is my FAVORITE!!! part of his character

i think it’s endlessly interesting to have his character not be perfectly good.

also for why i think of his character as not being perfect is mostly w hlvrai 1. i think it’s interesting how genuinley invested he is and how he seems to seek out vengeance after his hand is cut off, despite him (being the player) not actually experiencing pain from it and being able to leave at any time.

he also has a bit of a victim complex which is highlighted by the antagonists (benrey and the gnome) not being able to go against their code and trying to stop him from entering the boss fight, but he then feels betrayed when they do have to betray them. also his apathy towards the ais being stuck, like with coomer. i just think the way he treats the ais as unaware despite how clear it is that they are aware is part of why i didn’t see him as the “hero”.

i also think this would be really interesting to develop as he becomes more aware that the ais are conscience, which we may see with hl2vrai and we saw a little bit with hlage.

anyways basically i really like the idea of gordan/the player not being the “hero” and being able to undergo development because of that

alternatively, it could add a lot of narrative context to him being paler / blueish or purplish in appearance (if ur writing him as a Human and not as a creature) because reynaulds rly messes w/ ur circulation in some funny ways
