Indoor Air

I'm in a basement computer lab right now. I used to work here last semester. I just feel...relaxed. I am leaving for spring break tomorrow but there's a gentle breeze that's being kicked around the maze of pipes above my head that seems to know the key to ease my senses. There's a certain feeling in here that makes me want to pause and just breathe. Smell, touch, sight...all the senses sometime play together in a rare orchestration that produce this odd sense of reassurance. I can never tell when it's going to happen. I got the same feeling driving off into a distant county back home, sun roof open...I was listening to a CD my friend burned for me 5 years before. I was alone...but I felt at one. That friend was someone I really only knew for a month. We got extremely close and we're basically attached at the hip everyday after school. Then we went our ways...it's unpredictable when those experiences will decide to travel down the crossroads of my brain. I guess...that's life. Friends come and go, but experiences will always live on.......when I woke up today, my eyes seemed to change to a different change of blue...like a cross between Lake Michigan on a clear day and the upper tinted part of the windshield on a car my family owned when I was 10. I can't wait for the road. Spring break is almost here.

Where I've Been

Honestly I feel a bit disconnected. It's like I'm on a swing attached to the sun. Sometimes I'm looking down on everything, immersed in the clouds. Sometimes I'm hovering above level ground. Then there are times when I feel as if I'm upside down, grasping the chains and trying not to fall backwards.

It's been hard to focus. I slept all week on the futon in the living room. I got to drop my worst class and picked up two others...so I feel a little less stressed. I got to visit the top of the bell tower here at school on Sunday. My friend played some songs for us. We climbed what seemed like a 40 foot vertical ladder and then another 10 foot ladder, to get to the bells. The each horizontal bar felt like burning ice but with each movement upwards I felt more alive. I think I live off new experiences. This would be why my roommates and I are having a road trip next week. Spring Break will be...revitalizing. I also like to shoot a thanks to the gentleman I just helped at work today. Despite having a problem with software that prevented him from doing the work he needed to get done and my inability to really fix the problem as the main help/business office was is already closed for the day, he never raised his tone, calmly understood the situation, and expressed sincere gratitude for my help. Thank you for being human. On that note, please keep the Japanese tragedy in your thoughts and prayers. I can't even imagine what those families are going through. If you want to ----> donate.
