Hi!!! And welcome to @bpd-archive! One mod, my name is Shaun but I also go by Q! I use she/ghost/veil pronouns. This blog is for archiving any BPD related terms, ex: those that specifically mention being for pwBPD, could fit a pwBPD or anything else!

Yandere terms occasionally will be reblogged here, but I tag them under #yandere cw. Mute #not bpd archiving for no mod posts. If reblog spam occurs I do apologize! I am trying my best to not do it anymore, but it sometimes still happens. Tags are always messy but I am trying to go back and fix them!

⟢ A system who doesn't fall under what people would think of when thinking of systems. This includes BPD systems, C-PTSD systems, and certain schizophrenic spectrum disorder systems. This also includes DID/OSDD systems who may not fit the system norm, such as systems with a small alter count or systems who are seen as "closer to singlets" than most systems. This isn't the same as a Neougenic system but is very similar and meant to represent the lesser known systems that people tend to ignore.

This can include disorders that would qualify as Non-traumagenic in system terms but OP is anti-endo

A headmate which holds romantic yearning/obsessions. They typically get attached/obsessed with people easily. If the system has BPD they might switch FPs extremely fast or have less tolerance to forming that sort of bond with someone.

When a person with BPD has worked hard to establish their own personality, style, or interests, having someone else mimic them can feel like their identity is being stolen and cause distress.

[ ✦ ] PERPETUAL RECOVERY CYCLE FLAG

To be clear, I intend this to be used by those with disorders that disrupt impulsivity & mood control; things like BPD, schizospec disorders, ADHD, the list goes on.

The "perpetual recovery cycle" is characterised by dealing with/indulging in one's negative mental health symptoms and either feeling regret, remorse, or a general sense of "I should not have done that", followed by a temporary "recovery" stage before the cycle repeats.

This isn't a pride flag, avoid tagging it as such.

Vexillology notes

I chose ouroboros for two reasons, the first being that it symbolises the cycle of rebirth¹, and the second being that it's commonly seen as a snake; a relatively harmless animal with the occasional extremely dangerous breed.²

The background is due to green being the colour of mental health awareness³, with the yellow being the colour of daffodils while red & blue compliment the pair, the latter also serving as a calm colour.⁴

Of course anon! We aren't clueless, but we also aren't the most educated on BPD, nor do we have it ourselves, so we apologize if anything is inaccurate or misrepresented!

The symbol in the center is not an original coining of ours, it is just the BPD symbol we've seen used by those with the disorder the most! Not having BPD ourselves, we didn't want to pick a symbol for the community, nor could we really find anything as fitting as we think our choosing of the laurel for NPD was. The split colors represent splitting as seen within BPD; the alternation between intense idolization and devaluation.

From top to bottom, the colors each represent different symptoms and the different subtypes of BPD, and their meanings are as follows:

Deep-indigo: The intense fear of abandonment and the struggles that come with it

Indigo: The quiet subtype and it's symptoms

Blue: The impulsive subtype and it's symptoms

Light-blue: Some of the symptoms that are typically universal across the different subtypes of BPD; unstable relationships, unstable sense of self, unstable emotions, and general instability in life

White: Recovery

Light-grey: Some of the symptoms that are typically universal across the different subtypes of BPD; chronic feelings of emptiness, self destructive behaviors/urges/thoughts, dissociation, and paranoia

Grey: The petulant subtype and it's symptoms

Deep-grey: The self-destructive subtype and it's symptoms

Black: Co-morbid disorders
