The difference between fyre and dashcon is that one was a con organized by a bunch of idiots and attended by hapless 14-year-olds who didn’t know any better and the other was a multi million dollar effort by big name people and was attended by rich people who should know better
Another difference is that even in the face of shitty organizing and broken promises, the teenagers and young adults (“14-year-olds” is pushing it. I saw very few people under 18 around) who attended dashcon still managed to have some pretty great fan/attendee-run panels, were overall respectful of each other and tried to have fun despite everything, and BEHAVED THEMSELVES, unlike these rich people that have basically fallen into chaos when they definitely have the means to get themselves out of there.
