*not listening while the person who stabbed brackets gets to go through a frankly terrifying medical procedure that involved mid air restraints and using fear as a paralytic
*thankfully the procedure was a success, a minor fracture healed in its entirety, not surprising because that program is the best in the field

a subtle shift that practically only the players noticed after the death of (mushroom) brackets is the music of exclamania
over the next years it subtly shifted to their style of orchestration
and then their original compositions
and then a few years after that shift john hears the sounds of a "new" area (that a dev the spores of brackets allowed to work fished out and tested), and its a composition that brackets played for him, one he knows for a fact isnt from exclamania or (his) earth, and he takes a double take
the compositions are uploaded officially, mostly because the spores outside exclamania can "remember" the compositions by highjacking dev accounts and listening to them
and presumably there is suspect dev account movement by the point brackets original compositions get into the game
the most suspicious thing being that the oddly moving dev accounts actually help sentient exclamanians and players
no signs of aggression except to players and other devs attempting to hurt sentient exclamanians (including bugs, a faction devs are always aggressive in attacking, a faction that brackets was deliberately placed into, not as an error but as a feature that allowed people to harm them without anyone batting an eye)
some of the original compositions are just remixes of songs they were fond of or had been given in other worlds
they wouldn't be able to tell anyone which is which because they're dead and they dont have a conventional ghost
poet anon (curse their name) might know some but they're either dead or an amnesiac by that point
and the only other people who would know at least some, their coworkers (and some surviving family), would only fall through worlds to that exclamania if they were extraordinarily lucky(amount of luck)
and if that did happen it would probably be someone they bounced on their knee as a youngin (specifically becoming a faller as an adult) or who was/is a big freak about them, because it would be embarrassing and also a bit tragic

while source separation is commonly recommended for every problem an introject could have, please know that is not your only option and it is entirely valid to explore other ways of solving your issues. yes, this could even be the case when your issues are caused by you being an introject in some way or another. you can always navigate yourself without necessarily needing to reinvent yourself.
a character being a perpetrator does not negate their victimhood and neither does their victimhood negate being a perpetrator. u can accept and reckon w both dimensions in ur analysis
there is nothing morally purifying about suffering or victimhood, it is not something that inculcates “goodness.”
one’s character has no impact on whether they were/are a victim or not, victim status is not something that is only afforded to the palatable.

what if there was a timeline where john and brackets were newly together (in some sense)
and his brackets leaves for a short outing
and then another brackets from some thousands to millions of time ago (who was that paths primary at the time) just falls from the ceiling dripping with blood and dust,
disoriented and confused and probably badly disassociating
and then both that brackets and their john have to heal this sad (mostly visually) slopping wet guy
and stop em from trying to kill people
(that brackets is better at it, mostly because they're a pain in the ass to fight with all of the environmental effects built into their damage control fighting)
the other important thing with this that brackets hadn't mentioned (in canon + applies here) because they didn't think too hard on it is that, the time they spent in the universes and multiverses they were kidnapped to wasn't linear, those places had different clocks, different flows and dimensions of time
so there really isn't a reasonable way to reassemble what time he spent where because of 1000* different time standards and flows, also timeloops

this situation is also why brackets has so many time dimensions* and spacial dimensions*, those stick to them like lint balls when walking through a really dusty hallway

we also dont know if they got time traveled and time traveled, but they might have, and it would make their situation more complicated

some unknown amount of haunted locations have been brackets from a slightly different perspective and angles
the amount isnt known because if they knew that people were in them, walking on their floorboards, in their carefully crafted walls they would pop over and go "[ :D hiiiii]" or "[hello, i am the caretaker of this place] [what brings you here]"
and its hard to be extremely intimidated by a place if theres a random enban greeting you and telling you the way out if you get lost, shielding your eyes from things in them outside of your weight class for understanding
(although that last bit partly instinct, unfortunately for john, although that was partly manifested from anxiety about hurting him(as gift said, those two are far too similar))
brackets has a number of powers that just, never were relevant or remained unbuffed and couldn't be activated because of brackets poor memory
for example, when not with a pure digital (like gift) or purely physical (like some of their other vessels) vessel they can transport themselves with their vessel through physical or digital areas that their vessel wouldn't be able to go through alone, or wouldn't be able to go through in the same way
they can also do that kind of transport without a vessel, its just more expensive energeticly, both for them and the space hosting them
(its like that for a lot of their abilities, even before they became parasitic the snap back on their abilities was bad without a companion)
another would be their foresight
although that is mentioned, and like their divinity it has more drawbacks then positive effects, it did give them several mental breakdowns in the past and its too unfocused
it sees too much of time and space at once to be productive, and its limitations are unknown because it mostly really sucks if you dont game it well
imagine being able to see the past future and present week of a whole city block, from bedrock to the skys, but your actual relative range of vision, the area and amount you can actually see at once, doesn't change, and you cant control what you're looking at or focus it because you're looking at the whole thing at once on top of your normal vision
now imagine that city block was a whole universe, and the amount you can see can be augmented to the point you dont get an instant headache,
and you're nearsighted with glasses not affecting the power some of the time + the time it is effected isnt linear so occasionally you will proverbially stub your toe really bad and not be able to see shit or see something you really didn't want to see
and thats the utility of their foresight

they could tell you something was there and its condition using their foresight (which extends to the present or spottily the past), but they couldn't actually see it
