this is extremely trivial in light of all the beautiful and moving asks/comments you’ve been getting re:ssd (which was incredibly moving and beautiful and I fear is now just a permanent safari tab I keep open) but I was very endeared by the inclusion of Otter in the fic - does she ever (in the safe wsh-adjacent spaces) get to move out of mack’s childhood bedroom? It’s such a sweet moment and somehow very Mack (and Will seems so charmed!) 🦦
You’re sooo real for asking this. Hadn’t really thought about it but my instincts say at some point Mack will be unable to avoid a Will Smith to VAN childhood bedroom pilgrimage and WSH will sit on his bed and pick up Otter and kinda be like awww she was your buddy, huh? And Mack (finally out of the closet about his childhood friendlessness) will feel it like a kick in the gut and she will find her way into his suitcase and then some random box ik the back of his closet but he’ll faithfully pack her every time he moves.
Also if anyone has not seen @brahmsthirdracket ‘s Otter art, behold!!! The little hand-written Mack on the tag fully made me tear up in the bathroom at work.
