Alright I think I have to write this down. These are things I think every new RPer has to know.

I might have not phrased it too gentle and I’m sorry about that, but it would get hella long ^.^ I’m not angry or something, just precise. Here you go loves:

BIO! Even if you’re a canon character. You need a page about the Mun and one about the Muse. It helps the orientation in which part of the established timeline your Muse is and if you did some alterations to the character. It’s even more important for an OCs.

Get yourself X-KIT! No really I mean it. It makes everything so much easier.I couldn’t live without it anymore. It has certain apps that tag your asks automatically with the urls of the people who send it. one with which you can draft answers directly from your dashboard and one very VERY important app is the one who reblogs automatically everything as text and not a link. which brings me to the next point

Always ALWAYS reblog threads as ‘text’ and not a link. It gets a mess otherwise and is hard to trim and keep track on.

trim your threads. People are following you and remember that “Do you like the colour of the sky” posts? Yeah that’s how it feels like if you have 10 answers to a thread stuffed upon each other in a very long post. So please if you answer, just delete your former answer and let your partner’s there.

If you have never interacted with another player..don’t..repeat don’t..answer a smut-meme as the first interaction between the characters. Start with something more general. Most people will still answer it, but know that you probably made them feel uncomfortable. Just answer the ice-breaker memes and let a relationship develop a little bit OR plot it first with the Mun.

Don’t rp smut if you don’t feel like it and especially if you’re under age. That’s even illegal. Don’t ever let someone push you into it (that’s technically abuse) and don’t lie about your age please. This community is built on trust and you shouldn’t abuse this.

Tag triggering stuff. If you feel like it is too explicit in sexual matter or violence matter put it under Read More and ask your partner to do it too.

You’re not writing a fanfiction. Don’t try to write into the other’s point of view unless you two have played so many times you know you can do it without messing up (you can’t avoid it sometimes because logic and plot reasons(for me it were telepathy reasons)). Even then be very cautious about it, still write only what your character sees and feels. You can never assume a character will react like you expect it to, so don’t push someone into your ideas. Always leave an end that gives the other player enough space to continue.

ANSWER MEMES. Yes I mean it. That’s what breaks the ice and you can find a wonderful partner through this. The rp-ers post it to be answered and because they like the idea.

Come into the inbox of a rp-er and ask if they’d like to plot something if you don’t feel like answering memes. No really do it. Even if you have respect and love a famous rper. Do it. They will appreciate it.

ASK FOR ADVICE if you need it. Really. The people are mostly very nice. Or more like the nicest persons ever. So go. All of them will probably gladly answer your questions if they have the time in that moment.

Even if you’re not too comfortable about your writing, just forget it and write. It gets better with time. Write..just write.. Pretend you have the self-conciousness, like we all do. :D

Don’t feel obligated to use any special fonds or special html or something. You can use it, but in the end the only thing that matters is your writing and how well you click with the other player.

Be understandable and patient. Muns have their own lives and maybe (like me) are very slow because of it. You can assume they don’t ignore you, just didn’t get to your answer yet. Feel free to remind them, but not half an hour after you’ve answered. If you don’t get your answer within three days (and it wasn’t a long plotted thread (those are complicated and need time )) than remind the Mun about it with a little ask or fanmail with the link to your answer. After such a long time they’ve probably lost it and will not get angry, because you’ve the full right to do it.

Don’t feel bad if you have a bad day and can’t write anything. We all have a writer’s block sometimes. Just tell your followers and all is gonna be ok.

and most important. HAVE FUN. Do the threads you like, be nice and fair to everyone and enjoy the warmth and beauty that is the rp-community.

Tell me in my ask what “Dere” type you think my muse is most like/would be!

Tsundere - refers to a character who treats the one they love poorly. Sometimes this is because they started out hating them and eventually loves them as the series goes on, and sometimes it’s because that’s the only way they know how to react.

Yandere - refers to a character who starts out nice and sweet but eventually becomes dark and obsessive over the one they love. They become stalkers and use violence on, and possibly even murder, any person who gets close to their love interest — even if they’re too shy to simply speak with that person they have a crush on.

Deredere - refers to a character who is completely kind, happy, and energetic. No matter what may happen, they quickly revert to their cheerful self.

Dandere - refers to a character who is often silent and to themselves. It may be due to shyness or just because they’re the quiet type. However, when alone with the person they are attracted to, they usually come out of their shell and become more loving.

Kuudere - refers to a character who is often cold, blunt, and cynical. They may seem very emotionless on the outside, but on the inside they’re very caring — at least when it comes to the ones they love.

Himedere / Oujidere - refers to a character who wishes to be treated like royalty by the person they love, even if they aren’t royalty in actuality.

Kamidere - refers to a character with a god complex. They’re highly arrogant and proud, and aren’t afraid to speak their minds and show everyone how right they are.
