Have you ever considered trying to work on being a less picky eater? There's a whole world of delicious experiences you're missing out on.
I test the waters every once in a while and discover “Nope, still picky.”
The dangers and troubles of being a panda zookeeper.
If this doesn’t get nominated for an Oscar, there is no justice in the world.
From Dorsey Shaw
I think this image needs more discussion… because…
Now I would be remiss in my duties if I didn’t try to find out something more about this project. Here’s all I can find so far… and I’ll put a screen capture of this so we can see the “No Cover Available” thing forever…
From the comments inside this post…
“northwestsmith said: I suspect this is actually for a mistborn novel or novella, the costume and look on the woman are a dead ringer for Vin, one of the protagonists of the first trilogy”
Upon further review I have to agree. Forgive me… I’m not a reader and don’t know this universe. I defer to the fans of Mr. Sanderson’s works. There is a Mistborn book in the same site that also has “No Cover Available.”
Perhaps with the proper confirmations we can tag this artwork with things like “Mistborn” and “Vin” and “Lost Metal”?
That October 2018 release date though… I sure don’t want to wait that long…
We have some more input:
poison-stripes said: //Minion 64 here says it can’t be the cover of Lost Metal. Reason being is that Vin is standing on one of the spires of Kredik Shaw. As for Lost Metal, last I checked Vin is deceased and what was left of Kredik Shaw went away after the Catacendre.
Well now… what we need is some suggestions as to what it could be then. We know that the art has not yet been connected to a yet-to-be-released work. We are confident that the character Vin is the subject. Apparently the location is a place called Kredik Shaw. Does anyone know a work that this information properly connects?
I heard Kat talking about this piece at Gen Con, so this isn’t an official source, and was a few weeks ago, but I’m pretty sure I heard her say that it was going to be the cover of a 10th Anniversary version of a Mistborn book or trilogy publication.
Gen Con 2016 - Minion 446 reporting in!
This was my first chance to see Steve since I became a member of the Ascended Minion Project. I had already had my biggies signed at a local prerelease in early 2012 (Liliana) and GP Chicago 2014 (Deathrite Shamans), so my goals for this weekend was to get the 2015 Judge playmat I had traded for signed, purchase a Slave of Bolas playmat, get my playset of Glistener Elf (Infect is the only Modern deck I have) signed, and upgrade the sideways Damia I had won in Game Show 15 to a shadow signature. As you can see in the photos, I accomplished those things and more!
Since I was Judging Magic events during the evening each day of the Con, I had to be sure to visit early. It also kind of sucked that Steve’s Booth, as well as the rest of the Artist Alley, was almost as far as possible across the convention center from the Magic game play area. That meant I did a lot of “I’m trying to get somewhere, why are people walking so slow?” walking.
I only had to wait in line the first day; but that is because every other day the line was closed when I was there. Steve was doing many alters! I didn’t take any photos while I was there (I should have, but it never even crossed my mind), but the tables were overloaded with playmats. A new one even debuted there, and it was of Glistener Elf, so I actually had to decided between getting the art I liked more or the art that was more in sync with a deck I played.
Benefits of being a Minion: Steve didn’t charge me at all for my signatures, and then handed me a full set of the tokens. So, if you are just a lurker, you really should be signing up! I got one of the new Lineshambler cards; hopefully Steve will do more events in the Mid-West so I can upgrade it! I was also sure to stop by each day for the complete set of binder candy. I also have a nice new photo with Chandra Ablaze as the background to use as my avatar for the Judge Apps site, the website where you apply to work big events.
Gen Con was exhausting, mostly because I didn’t get off shift until 3 A.M., but it was really cool getting to see Steve and Kat and feel a bit like an insider.

From failblog
rk posse is nearly at 500! It will randomly go to those that sign up likely today. rkpost.net to sign up or free card with orders (details on the site).
rk post is Steve’s pal… and I will always take a moment to help advertise the rkposse… because the whole fantasy illustrator fan club (I’m gonna go ahead and claim credit right now for the idea… because I can…) is a great thing. I am proud to be posse member #009! (I love being in the top 10!… more bragging… because I’m good at it…)
As long as we’re on the subject you can also check out Terese Nielsen Project because I think this sort of think should spread.
If any of you have the passion to start a fan club for a favorite artist you should totally give it a shot… (let me know if anyone does one for Raymond Swanland!)
I’d join Swanfandia in a heartbeat.
It’s important to pay attention to the details.
Gen Con pre-orders now open!
Usual stuff applies:
Time is limited, the pre-orders will close as soon as I’m booked up.
The artwork doesn’t include the thing getting art’ified. I’m sorry to shatter your dreams, everyone who was hoping to get a foil Liliana of the Veil with an alter for $30 total.
Artist proofs are subject to availability (all the mythics are long since sold out, just to save you time.) Priced by rarity - $10 common, $20 UC, $30 R. Foil proofs are 3x the base price. ($30 C, $60 UC, $90 R)
Blank playmats are $10.
Cards for altering are whatever I can get them for online.
If you want in on this, email me your wish list at [email protected].
GAHHH!!! I’m so excited to see you at Gen Con (I’m judging!)!
