I love that I canât unsee the first impulse glance of that cat floating and I gotta share it. So much power, so mundane. Cat to the core.Â

What... jfc
People hacking their lungs out around you and then being like âdonât worry itâs not covidâ like girl I donât want whatever the fuck else it is youâve got either!!
This pisses me off on so many levels because it proves that white people A) Donât see black people as anything other than mules for their emotional labor and B) Walking moral compasses.
How fucking dare she ask a black woman to write black pain âwith BLACK CHILDREN nonethelessâ to teach a bunch of white men a lesson? The people that watch Abbott Elementary are not the same people who see school shootings as just an unfortunate byproduct of the 2nd Amendment. Black people are allowed to exist in bright spaces without there being the threat of death or violence.
MEANWHILE most of these mass shootings arenât even happening in lower funded black schools.
Can you imagine if black people hit up the writers at Parks and Rec and were like âYou should write an episode about a bunch of people ODing on meth to teach law makers a lesson about drug addiction in small towns.â
Another irritating thing about this interaction is how this random white woman had the gall to tell Quinta âPlease reach out if interested, Iâd be happy to help.â
Because this random white lady in FL is qualified to advise a black writer about how to write for a black school in Philly. And sheâs so entitled that she expects pats on the back and credit for this bootyass idea. âPlease reach out if interestedâ like sheâs someone important. FOH
And this is why I say itâs so important to have a balance when I comes to black media. So many of our projects are used to teach people about traumatic experiences, actual entertainment is at the back burner, especially when itâs a black woman and or children on screen.
Do you understand how insulting and degrading it is to ask a black woman who has successfully created a tv show that has been a successful escape for so many people to now use that same show (mind you black children make up a majority of the cast) to recreate a school shooting⌠how corrupt can your mind possibly be??
Thereâs a time and place for everything and unfortunately people donât understand that when it comes to black people and their art. People donât have any sympathy when it comes to us⌠as if weâre born to create trauma porn for the enjoyment of people who donât even have empathy for those real situations anyway⌠much less when those situations are happening to black people.
