The Young Ones is so autism core because how am I both Rick and Neil
They're just very lightly done, and that's a light meal you can have any time.
Tumblr, I need help.
Here's the sixty-second version of my real-life woes, much of which I haven't discussed here.
In November, I made plans with a friend to come visit from out of state and travel to northern Arizona for several days. (We'll come back to that.)
My mother died in 2021, leaving my dad and I to care for her older brother, my Uncle Dave. Uncle Dave is mentally disabled due to high fever as a child that literally cooked his brain inside his skull. We've always known he was at higher risk for dementia because of his injury, but this November and December it became clear his mental problems had progressed far past what we could handle. Several times I had to leave or skip work because he'd gone missing or needed medical attention. He entered assisted living the last week in February.
In January I had two separate car repairs, one of which needs to be redone. (LED headlights are great because they're the last ones you'll ever need...bullshit.)
I was sick throughout December and February, missing more work....oh, and that trip I mentioned before? Yeah, that was scheduled for the first week in March. Hotel, plane, and time off for both of us were already locked in by the time I got sick, and so after depleting my trip savings for car repair I also had to cover my half of food and gas out of what was functionally half a paycheck. (And yes, admittedly, like $40 of tourist stuff.) I've also spent the month driving up to my dad's every other day to take care of the animals since Uncle Dave is in care now, while also trying to get them rehomed and rehabbing my stepsister's cat. Anybody remember the crack addict stepsister who stole my mother's jewelry? Yeah, she also abandoned her cat. (The cat is doing well. If anyone in Arizona wants a female cat about a year old she still needs to be spayed but her name is Lovebug and she lives up to it.) So that's a decent extra chunk of gas.
It was going to be okay and my bills were going to be paid. I was going to squeak by and get back to refilling my savings in April.
And then I found out I hadn't put enough money on my pay-as-you-go car insurance for the trip.
After that beautiful surprise charge, refilling my psych meds and gas tank twice due to the traveling for my dad's animals, and food....
.....my rent is $975, due on the first, and my company stopped offering early pay.
I realize this is a big ask. But if you're able to throw me five or ten bucks so I can make rent, or to throw this in front of some more eyeballs, I'd really appreciate it. And if you want to put in extra but get something in exchange I make my own salsa and I can send you a jar once the next paycheck comes in.
I'm so sorry, guys. I thought I was past needing this kind of help. (Someone introduce more adequate sick pay to the United States, please.)
idk where all of this weed-smoke discourse erupted from, but “weed is fine and you shouldn’t be a snitch about it” and “don’t burn plant matter in public spaces where someone you don’t know might have, like, a lung condition” are two sentiments that can and do coexist. i have asthma and i hang out with stoners pretty much constantly. i’ve never felt the urge to snitch and no one has ever blatantly disrespected my avoidance of smoke. they’re always eager to help keep it away from me when needed, which isn’t difficult to do. i hate to say this, but my only takeaway from a hypothetical scenario in which a stoner is blasting weed smoke in public like a dragon and an asthmatic feels the need to involve the cops is that both individuals are unpleasant and i don’t want to be around either of them lmao
just wanted to share the National Down Syndrome Society’s message for this year’s World Down Syndrome Day (21st March) 💛💙
Powerful message that lovingly includes multiple disabilities, united. I love this.
not to be all i told you so about ancestry tests but 23 and me went bankrupt and can now legally sell human genetic information to the highest bidder, as per their privacy policy which was signed by approx. 15 million test takers
im still mind blown that people really readily submitted their dna so they could be classed by ethnicity on paper permanently. like yeah theres no way this could go badly huh
When the California biotech firm filed for bankruptcy, there was one looming question for customers: What's going to happen to my data?
I'm howling, I know shit about the newest Snow White Disney regurgitation but I just clicked on it on iMDb and-
1.8 stars????? I didn't think that was possible. I clicked on it and-
IT'S EVEN FUCKING LOWER THAN THAT IF YOU DON'T COUNT THE OBVIOUSLY PAID-FOR 10S. Like even the other two recent disasters are higher than that!
This is where it occured to me to check something and-
IT'S RATED SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN A MOVIE MADE PURPOSEFULLY TO BE AS GROSS AND HORRIBLE AS POSSIBLE. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EVEN MANAGE THAT??????
IT'S EVEN WORSE THAN THE SEQUEL OF A SEQUEL OF A HORROR MOVIE MADE EXCLUSIVELY BECAUSE TOM CARDY MADE A SONG ABOUT IT.
I think I'm going to pirate this and watch it out of sheer morbid curiosity.
I couldn't help myself, I went on a quest to find a movie worse than this. A bit hard, because iMDb doesn't let you sort by the lowest rated 250, but I managed.
BEHOLD! The movies that managed to get a worse rating than Snow White!
Pledge this!
I actually saw this one when I was, uh, probably way too young for it. It's about Paris Hilton being a sadistic tyrant of some posh university and it includes charming scenes of her making aspiring college students eat leftover sushi from dog bowls and spraying whipped cream on her boyfriend's dick to make her dog give him a blowjob. Definitely worse than Snow White, right?
Well-
Enough people thought it was at least ironically funny to give it a 3.7 mean so it's, technically, NOT worse than Snow White. I guess Paris Hilton is at least hot.
Next, we have:
A very promising title! Apparently it's a sequel of a Turkish film 'The Man Who Saved the World', (which in itself is apparently 'Turkish Star Wars') and which one reviewer called 'mindbogglingly awful'. Hold on, let me show you the funniest part of one review:
This movie is so bad it interferes with one's inner peace! Surely not even Snow White is THAT bad.
Except-
To be fair, Turks in Space is a sequel of a problematic cult favorite, so it still manages to have some fans. My condolences to the person whose inner peace was disturbed, I hope you moved to a Tibetan monastery in 2019 and haven't had internet acess since. Hell, 2024 would be be better than seeing this.
Okay, by now iMDb algorhythm or whatever it is has figured out what I want and grudgingly started offering me its worst rated movies. Unfortunately...
It turns out it's REALLY FUCKING HARD to make a movie that is so universally unappealing. Even the worst movies so far have at least a dozen people who gave it a pity rating and a few maniacs who think it's unintentionally the best thing ever. Finding something below 1.8 is actually pretty hard!
But I prevailed and found this!
It's a very bad german vanity film about... I don't know, some guy who won a talent show once? The reviews speak for themselves:
'Cultural equivalent of stoning the viewer to death'. Wow. Have we finally found the most universally hated movie of all-
NOPE! Turns out even camcorder vanity projects have their fans. And mind you, this movie at least didn't cost 250 million to make! Considering how cheap it looks and that some people went to war with the German Amazon to track it down, I think it actually made more money than it cost anyway.
And so my search for a movie hated more than Snow White continues!
We're taking a turn for the absurd, and while these are TECHNICALLY a series, I have found TWO things that have made me nearly burst my spleen.
We have...
Literally just a collection of Charli D'Amelio's videos. I have to admit I had to google who the fuck that was.
But she still isn't what we're looking for. She does get an honorable mention because it's on her page that I found THIS.
People wiser than me have already realised what this is, but alas. I am an idiot. The 'ape' part should have tipped me off, but in my defense, seeing only half of that monkey's head was probably on purpose because you realize it instantly once you see it.
I had to open my computer, open youtube in a private window and then carefully copy it over here without opening it because I don't want Youtube algorhythm to catch so much as a whiff of it. But yes. It's exactly what it says on the tin.
HOWEVER.
It is, by the virtue of at least the people who went blind at the Bored Ape concert, NOT the most universally hated movie! Snow White continues to edge out some VERY stiff competition!
before it gets bad I'm just gonna tell y'all certain rich people have literally only recently noticed Open Source software availability compromises the bottom line of their proprietary investments so if you see little chickadees on this website talking about the dangers of Open Source software all of a sudden it's cuz they accidentally sipped some koolaid mixed up by the far right yacht people to fuck with peoples software sovereignty and right to repair, modify, and redistribute robust codebases that become a problem when 30% of your portfolio is in, oh, say, adobe or openai.
This is your unfriendly neighborhood computer fucker telling you not to fall for it and to demand your right to digital sovereignty rather than trusting companies to make correct choices about what to do with the parts of your life they would very much like to have in the cloud to continue improving their products.

hi everyone, my dad and his siblings have been desperately trying to get my aunt and her whole family out of gaza. I’ve watched him have multiple breakdowns over seeing the conditions they’re living in. they haven’t seen each other in person in literal decades. my aunt’s home in gaza city was completely destroyed and her family have had to repeatedly flee from the devastation. they deserve a better life than this, her kids deserve a better future than this.
it costs an insane amount to get over the egyptian border. please, donate if you can or rb this, it would mean a lot. thank you

It's been two months since more than 100 thousand armenians have been ethnically cleansed from their homeland of Artsakh. This doesn't mean that everything is over and everyone can get back to their daily lives and forget about it. I found some ways to help that I urge you to at least reblog.

This doesn’t include the best bit of the whole thing - she found the Twitter thread!
This is like one of those romance novels where people bond over accidentally writing each other emails but better.
Like Pride and Prejudice but instead of the love interest getting dissed for his toxicity and then reforming, it’s just two people bonding over dissing a dead toxic asshole.

“hallelujah” by leonard cohen being played as an easter and christmas song, “zombie” by the cranberries” being played as a halloween song, and “born in the U.S.A.” by bruce springsteen being played as a Fourth of July/generic us patriotism song have got to be a special trifecta of the most no-listening-comprehension musical moments that happen on seasonal playlists every single year
