still,  she  said  no.   not  because  the  opportunity  wasn't  appealing,  but  because  accepting  it  felt  impossible.  every  future  she'd  imagined  included  beau  -   every  paddock  she'd  walked  through  had  been  with  him.  she  couldn't  imagine  introducing  herself  to  a  new  team  without  instinctively  looking  over  her  shoulder  to  make  sure  he  was  following.  F1  became  inseparable  from  grief,  ˙⅋  grief  became  inseparable  from  guilt.  loving  motorsport  felt  like  betraying  the  man  who'd  introduced  her  to  it.
