“Don’t plan to. Thats my whole families motto actually. The whole don’t give up thing.” He grinned. “Oh um, yeah. Gotchya Dr Callaghan or could I call you Jace? I’m Henry by the way.”

“go for it.” davina offered, warm smile on her lips. it was undoubtedly one of her favourite things, to see someone find not only what they had been looking for but what they had been hoping to find without being willing to expect too much. she knew what it was like to find that unexpected favourite in a shop and feel completely overjoyed, “they’re meant to be read either way.”

henry felt a smile pulling at his lips as he skimmed through the books. eyes set to the pages, finding familiar figures from when he had watched the anime. this... this felt so cool. so awesome. so fun. he could not help the smile pressing to his lips. “i... how much is this?” he found himself asking, he had to buy it. at least he wanted to find it.

I’m sure you guys will find him, but I wouldn’t wait for too long.» He advised. «And I would try to contact the actual NEIGHBORS too. Most people in this hospital don’t see a lot of things.» They were constantly stuck in the OR, offices or other hospital rooms. It would be sheer luck if one of his patients or colleagues noticed the dog. Unless he hid away in here.

Henry gave a nod of his head. “Yeah, thats... thats true.” He gave a soft smile. “but, I’\m sure we’ll find him somehow. I just know it.” Even if it took some magic. “Oh--oh yeah yes! I’ll do that!!!” He said, a bit sheepishly. “Sorry, you were just the first person I really saw and um... sorry Mr Doctor.”

nodding davina smiled, he seemed nerves, maybe a few years younger than herself and not entirely within his comfort soon. “we’ve got a couple, it’s not huge collection hiding any rare ones so you might not find anything you don’t already have if you’re a keen collector yourself,” she explained, “they’re over here, come on, i’ll show you.” the brunette stated helpfully, making her way through the store to the right shelf, “it’s basically just the bottom part of this section, like i said not much but hopefully something can catch your eye.”

“i--i’m not. i mean i wish i was, being one would be epic, but um... i’m not.” he spoke with a sheepishness to his tone. he followed after the shorter girl, eyes going wide and bright at seeing the shelf of them. “oh my---you guys have the first volume of FMA? And My Hero too..... wow. I’ve never even read the first chapter of this in manga form.” He said, running his finger down the side of the book. “Am I allowed to take it out and like um, look at it? Or am I not supposed to do that?”

the bell above the door rung indicating that someone had entered the quaint bookshop. it was a sharp sound breaking the silence that had enveloped the store in the absence of customers and it brought davina out of daydream that had captured her attention while she took inventory in the back. the brunette’s gaze snapped towards the door leading to the shopfloor, “i’ll be right there ! ” she young witch called out, closing the inventory notebook before making her way out, small smile on her lips facing the prospective customer, “what can i do for you ? ”.

Henry had never been a BOOK person. Google was his best friend, first and foremost. But according to his classmate, nothing was the same as having the true book in your hand as you read. And THUS, Henry decided he’d give it a try. “ hiya !!” he greeted, laughter to his tone. An awkwardness also there, though he was trying to mask it. “ i um... i was wondering if you...” C’mon Henry, you could say it! No one was around to hear you, and even if they were so what?? He should be allowed to enjoy what he wanted to enjoy. Shouldn’t he? “ i was wondering if you carried ma---” Nope, NORMAL people did not call them manga. They called them--- “--graphic novels...?”

The male’s eyes dropped to the photo in the boy’s hands and he thought for one moment until he shook his head. «No, I’m SORRY, I haven’t seen that dog.» Jace lifted his gaze and let out a sigh. «You should try using flyers. Get people to contact you if they find the dog.» It was sad how many animals landed in shelters, instead of being reunited with their owners.

Henry gave out a small SIGH. “Well, thankya anywhere Mr.”  Still, he had to hold out hope he’d fine Arfield. Though, admittedly he understood why the dog had run away with a name like THAT. “Yeah, thats what we were thinking !! But my friend is holding out hope he could be found soon, since it’s only been a day.” And, Henry had decided, that if a week passed with no sign of Arfield he’d scry for him.

It was one of the DOWNSIDES of working in shifts: Even on his free days, Jace had a hard time getting a lot of sleep. In spite of the fact that the sun was barely rising, he was already working on his laptop, typing up the results of some research, when he heard the knock on the door. «Just one second!» He called out while he hit the save button and he took a quick sip of his coffee before he sprinted toward the door to open it for whoever he’d find on the other side of it. «Hi.»

“Okay, SO, this is gonna sound super weird but I have a question for you.” And just maybe going to door to door to ask this question was a bit (okay, a TON) silly of him, but it was worth a try wasn’t it? “Ya see, my friend has this dog and they got out just a day ago and they live pretty close to here...” He slipped his hand into his pocket, rummaging for only a moment before pulling out a crumpled photo. “Have you seen this dog?”

Alike his sisters, he is half whitelighter-half witch. 

He’s still in highschool and even plays FOOTBALL (not the ‘quarter back’ but STILL)

He has a few charges and prides himself on being the best whitelighter he could be. 

He looks up to each and every member of his family, most notably his sister at and his father Henry.

Though he attempts his hardest to keep it a secret from his family, Henry Jr also smokes a lot and occasionally does drugs.

Wyatt was surprised to see his cousin approach him but he hadn’t seen him in so L O N G that maybe that was actually what it was. “Hello, Henry.” He told him. “It has been a long while since we’ve seen each other. how have you been?” 

It was weird, this felt weird. He barely spoke to his family it felt like, outside of his sisters and that was mostly Kat. “Hey.” He spoke sheepishly. “Me-=--oh well, I’ve been ya know... the same. You?”

henry had plans to hit up the local hardware store to buy some supplies he needed for his new business, he couldn’t very well start off to a sloppy start. walking into a local cafe, he ordered himself a cup of coffee and the lady mistakenly gave him TWO cups of coffee. before he could say anything, she disappeared to serve another customer and he simply put the change he owed for the second cup on the counter, no harm done. walking to the exit, henry stopped the first person who was entering. “hey, uh, the lady who works here gave me an extra coffee by mistake, it’s yours if you want it.” he smiled. 

“ah-oh-um-thanks but i’m not really a coffee-er.” henry jr exclaimed sheepishly. “i don’t even like dark chocolate--and i know everyone says they aren’t the same but aren’t they though? and--” he froze, taking note of the man’s face. “do i... know you?” there was something familiar about him. like he had seen his picture somewhere before.

Wyatt needed a L O N G hard drink. He’d been busy ever since Cade had been taken care of he was trying to have things now in order but he was struggling with that and with everything else too. Four drinks later and Wyatt was paying attention to every last D E T A I L about an argument going on across the bar counter, something was thrown in his direction and he stared down at it, trying to figure out what it was having no idea in a drunken haze he just stared and stared, now completely zoned in on the thing in between his fingers. Not hearing the person next to him speak. 

It’d been a long while since Henry had seen his eldest cousin. Well, that wasn’t TOTALLY true, he’d seen him give his speech at the party a few nights prior. But he hadn’t spoken to him since arriving in town. He was in a bar--and he could already hear Kat nagging him about such a thing, being underage and all, but he still didn’t know what was going on with Adaliya and it was driving him up the W A L L. He needed to know, but he had yet to see Jace, the only person who could possibly give him answers. Thats when he spotted Wyatt, his first impulse was to hide, after all he doubted Wyatt would be cool with him being in a bar. But maybe he would? They hadn’t spoken in so long... so Henry approached him. “Hey Wyatt... its been a while.”
