Okay but like... I know this scene is right before goes into her speech about ending Zuko if he hurts Aang. But her body language does not read "I will end you if you mess up again."
This reads - to me - like "I am still mad at you, but I want to still talk to you and I wanted to see you" look. The one that a girlfriend would give to her boyfriend of even if they were fighting, she still cares for him.
Katara if you just wanted to talk with him, all you had to do was just do it. You do not need to hide it. Lol. And that is why animation is amazing!
This scene had me feeling so many emotions; I still feel them when I rewatch it. But I 100% agree and would like to add that her actions and tone of voice really feel like that of a jilted ex-lover who’s just had their ex-partner come back into their lives when they’ve already moved on (not really), thinking they were a terrible person and were comforted with that version of them in her head.
Now, he’s back, and she can’t hide behind that delusion of good and evil anymore. Now she has to listen and remind herself that he’s a person with flaws and who can make mistakes, but most importantly, he is worth forgiving.
Katara is uncomfortable because the man who upturned her innocent worldview in the catacombs is once again tilting her world on her axis only to reframe it again. And what’s worse is that she knows she’ll agree.
