“I understand completely!” Duncan smirked as Flannery shook her head. “You know how it is when it comes to beautiful, intelligent, spectacular women! It’s like they say, woo her, admire her, make her feel like she’s the most sublime creature on Remnant.” Flannery blushed slightly as Duncan grasped his wife’s hand.

May had to smile. Her father was ALWAYS like this. Seeing him seemingly fall for his wife all over again nearly every day never seemed to get old. Sometimes it was embarrassing but it was in it’s own way very sweet. She turned and smiled at Coco, reaching up and brushing a hand through her hair. “It’s not that hard to do when she IS the most sublime creature on Remnant..” Well..seems like the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

It was funny - while Coco was definitely not the nervous sort, she couldn’t deny a bit of anxiety....meeting the parents and all. Especially so early. But the unease had all but vanished over the course of the dinner.

There was just so much about these people to LIKE. Especially when Duncan began going on about his wife - she understood completely. However, when she decided to take his advice, Coco’s eyes widened as May’s face was suddenly much closer than expected, and the petite little redhead’s fingers found her hair, making her shiver, at both the touch and the words. She bit her lip, letting May have the reins, contenting herself with simply resting a hand on May’s thigh. “You keep talking like that Red, and I’m gonna have to marry you soon,” She purred.

Flannery just smirked at the two of them. Duncan found the entire thing amusing. It reminded him of several moments with his wife. Flannery took a sip of her drink. “As much as I appreciate some good romance, you two may want to save something for later.”

“Mom..” May groaned and rolled her eyes. Of course this was bound to happen. What else did she expect. Still, the blush on her face was a good sign that she was having fun. A little embarrassed sure but it was still fun. She cleared her throat and took a drink again.

She put her hand on top of Coco’s and squeezed a little. Partially for the contact and partially to stop Coco from moving her hand any further..”So uh, this was really fun and the food was great. I doubt I’m ever gonna be able to get back into this place without you.” Looking back at her parents who just smiled. Perhaps they were enjoying the sight of their daughter with someone she obviously cared greatly for.

Coco wasn’t embarrassed in the slightest, but for May’s sake, she dialed back her more devious impulses, simply smiling broadly at the older couple. “I apologize if that was inappropriate, but your daughter....inspires me.” She purred contentedly.

She let May capture her hand, feeling the squeeze and giving her significant other a smile and a sly, smoky look, and just let the conversation drift back to normal things. “It really is a nice place. I’m not shy about money, but I’m not even sure I could afford it.” She added, spearing another bite of cake and wrapping her lips around the fork slowly. She grinned absently at no one in particular, and gave May’s thigh a teasing squeeze.

The kiss was surprising to say the least. Her face going red and her eyes going wide. She wasn’t embarrassed by it..well not as much as she thought she would have been considering her parents were at the same table. She had hoped they were distracted and didn’t notice…nope wasn’t that lucky. Out of the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of her mother smirking at her and giving her a thumbs up..because of course she would.

Still..she reached up, hands cupping Coco’s face as she kissed back. Didn’t hurt that the chocolate was absolutely delicious. After a moment the kiss seemed to break. She tried to play it off normally and just went back for another bite of cake. “Uhm, so uh good huh? Yeah I can see where it got it’s name.”

She couldn’t help licking her lips as they parted, grinning at May and winking. The urge to keep going was strong, especially when she looked deep into the flustered grey-blue eyes....but teasing was one thing, and bullying her girlfriend was quite another.

God, you’re cute Red - especially when you’re flustered like this. May’s cheeks were dusky, bronzed by exposure to the desert sun, but it wasn’t hard to see that there was a flush there.

Coco laughed softly as May recovered herself, sliding one hand under the table and onto May’s leg, stroking lightly. “Yeah, I can see where the Choco-gasm got it’s name....and the cake was pretty good too,” She chuckled, taking a bite for herself. She shot a casual glance at her girlfriend’s parents, checking to see if she’d need to do some damage control, she DID get a little carried away there...

“The..choco-gasm?” May smirked as she looked down at the dessert menu. Trying to figure out what exactly this thing was and what the possibility of it killing her may be. “So it seems like it’s a type of chocolate lava cake…well ok, sounds pretty good and if we go by everything else so far..it’s going to be mind blowing.”

Flannery and Duncan seemed to decide on a different dessert, opting to share as well. Flannery put the order in when the server came back. It wouldn’t be much of a wait before they came back with the two dishes. Placing one down for May’s parents and the other down for Coco and May.

May seemed to stare at it for a second, dumbfounded by how it looked. Part of her wanted to grab the knife and slice into it just to make the chocolate flow out. She turned to Coco and just winked at her before cutting into it, a river of chocolate came oozing out. May scooped up some of it using a piece of the cake and held it up for Coco to take a bite.

Coco’s eyes widened. She’d been expecting to see May’s ‘foodgasm’ face - A place this good and a chocolate cake? It would happen, definitely. But the sudden, impish wink and May’s smile as she held up a slice for Coco, oozing with chocolate... She almost melted entirely. May Zedong was....something special. She just seemed to do the things Coco wished for in a girlfriend without realizing it. A romantic little punk that didn’t mind sweeping her off her feet or being swept off her feet in turn. She flashed May a soft, pleased  smile as she took the proffered bite. Drawing out the bite slowly with her lips, she let the moist cake slide down her throat, but kept the chocolate lava, coating her tongue slowly with it...and then, giving May a wicked grin, she took the redhead’s chin and pulled her into a deep, searching kiss, her chocolate tongue immediately pushing through the other woman’s lips....

May couldn’t help but smirk. Watching Coco practically orgasm just from eating dinner was certainly not something she expected to witness. She couldn’t exactly blame her though..the food at this place was ridiculously good. Even her parents seemed lost in their own little world.

After everyone had finished she found herself sort of leaning back against her chair. Flannery poked fun at Duncan, thinking the poor man was about to go into a food coma. Though the truth was Flannery might be joining him. Then of course came the obvious next step.

A waiter came by to collect the plates but also asked if anyone wanted dessert. Placing a dessert menu on the table and saying they would be right back. “If anyone wants anything go ahead, we’ll take care of it.” Duncan smiled. May took that as a sign to browse the menu..despite being mostly full already.

“Want something?” Glancing over at Coco and holding the menu up for her to look at.

May Zedong’s smirk brought an answering grin to Coco’s face - even though she was half distracted by the flat out AMAZING food. She winked at her girlfriend, but left it at that, though to focus on the meal. Good GOD, it was spectacular. If she ever tried to come here again, it was going to cost a LOT, she just knew it. Once the meal was done, Coco sat back a little, thanking god for her metabolism. Even so, there was definitely a workout with Fox in her future. She smiled at Flannery and Duncan as they teased each other and contributed to the general chitchat until the waiter came by, announcing the onset of dessert. When May took a menu, Coco scooted a little closer to May and leaned over to look over the other girl’s shoulder, enjoying their proximity as a little treat for being good all evening and not embarrassing her girlfriend in front of her parents. May smelled delicious, she couldn’t help but note. “Yes, let’s get that, and share it.” She purred, pointing to a certain item on the menu - Was it REALLY called Choco-gasm?

“Right, Amara!” Duncan nodded. “Sweet lady. Yeah that’s her husband Andre.” The man in question seemed rather tall but also rather..well let’s say round. Seemed owning a restaurant had it perks and one could tell he enjoyed his fair share of good meals. He seemed impeccably dressed though, as one would expect. Quite jovial in nature, smiling and laughing, taking his time to speak with anyone who approached him. He went from table to table, personally making sure the guests were taken care of.

Flannery had already started on her meal, May had done so as well. Once Duncan was finished speaking he joined in. The food was just as good as May’s parents had claimed. May herself seemed glad she’d stopped drinking, she might have passed out and missed the food otherwise.

Coco spent a moment considering the man May’s father pointed out. He wasn’t too bad looking, though Duncan was probably the more handsome of the pair of men. For whatever that was worth from a gay girl, anyway, she mused.

That said, he definitely dressed like the husband of a fashion designer. Coco could even recognize the Greenglass touch in certain items, like the waistcoat. She nodded her approval, then turned to her meal, since everyone else was eating.

She tackled the lamb first, and her eyes widened. IT WAS SO GOOD. The meat was practically oozing which the potatoes immediately soaked up, and the herbs used to finish the meal practically made sparks in her brain.

She let out a long, pleased moan as she tackled the food a little more aggressively, but savoring every single foodgasm that came through.

“Fair enough, I can appreciate that.” Flannery wasn’t going to press. She just met this woman and it wasn’t exactly something to dig into quite yet. Still, she appreciated Coco being honest about it. Saying they were “complicated” was enough to go by.

The server came back a few moments later, putting everyone’s food down before heading off again. The dining area had gotten rather packed, in fact it seemed there wasn’t any room left. A line was stretched from the door to around the building.

“Nice to see the place doing so well.” Duncan smiled as the manager waved at him. “That’s the manager..and well owner. He never looked that happy when we were in the service together but I suppose that’s understandable. He ended up marrying a lovely woman, dog faunus I believe. She’s a fashion designer based out of Mistral. Just released her spring collection, was all over the magazines.”

Flannery nodded “She’s a wonderful designer but that woman fakes her accent..I swear.” Chuckling a little. “No way that’s real.”

Cool. I didn’t really want to tell someone I just met about how I’m not really sure if my mom even likes me, and I feel like if she pressed I would have caved. Coco nodded her appreciation, resisting the urge to fiddle with her face, lest she ruin her makeup.

The Food was a welcome distraction, and Coco turned her attention to it, initially planning to use it to settle herself, but the sight of it actually fully distracted her from her dark thoughts. “Wow....the food looks great,” She commented, giving May a quick glance.

At the mention of fashion, however, Coco’s head snapped up, her eyes wide and alert, not unlike a cat fixing on a rapidly moving object. “Fashion...in Mistral?” She echoed, trying very hard and not entirely succeeding in seeming too excited. “Dog Faunus means....the owner of this place is Amara Greenglass’ husband?”

Coco blinked once, then twice, an eyebrow rising into view as she contemplated the inverted child before her. “Hey, Kitten - I’m good. What’s up?” She asked wryly, staring at the structure Stjerne was hanging from.

“Hmmm.” Coco tapped her lips thoughtfully as she eyed Stjerne up and down. “I think I can work with that. We’re not going to be able to find much proper fashion with gears and the like, but if you go with a vintage style and hunt down the right accessories, you can get a pretty similar look.”

She nodded to herself, lightly thumping her fist into her hand with a soft ‘pap’ “Okay. I think I’ve got the right stores around town to take you to, Kitten. Come meet me at my dorm room on Saturday, and we’ll start up Operation Fashion Plate.”

May listened to Coco, blushing a little but it was hard to tell if that was from the statement or the wine. She did appreciate the fact her parents weren’t being as annoying as she worried they would be. Didn’t make it any less of an awkward situation though. She sort of side eyed Coco, pretty much her way of saying “not gonna happen”. As fun as that might be…she doubted she was going to be in any frame of mind for it later.

She put the empty wine glass down but decided against pouring any more. Instead just leaning back a bit. It was..interesting to listen in on her mother, and Coco talking.

Flannery smirked and nodded. “Yes I’ve noticed that. Though you can usually only get away with it once per bar. After you’ve had the chance to drink everyone under the table..they start warning people. You’ve got to find a different place and swindle everyone out of their lien.”

“Tell me Coco, what are your parents like?”

Coco nodded along with Flannery as she turned her attention back to the older woman - May seemed to settle down, though she smirked just a little at her girlfriend’s side-eye. She’d have to remember to tease her later.

“My parents are...” Coco trailed off. A litany of complaints about the sprang to her lips but she stifled the urge to voice them. She didn’t know the Zedongs well enough to get that personal. “Let’s call them....complicated,” she said finally.

She smiled faintly, with a little less enthusiasm than she’d been able to muster for discussing May’s family. In fact, she seemed to be struggling to find the right words. “My family seems to have lots of Iron will or hard headed stubbornness, depending on who you ask.”

“Velvet!” Coco replied, echoing the bunny faunus’ tone, then, smirking and waggling her fingers in a lazy wave, she smiled. “What’s up, V?”

“I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave,” Coco murmured as Velvet’s hips held her gaze with a grip of iron.

This is dumb….this is so dumb, but I can’t stop myself. Maybe if I tell Yatsuhashi he can talk to her and tell her to keep away from a disaster lesbian like me. Coco groaned softly, and put head in her hands, waiting for Velvet to come back.

This would be so much easier if she didn’t CARE about Velvet so damn much.

Velvet came back, two cups of coffee and a single pastry for them to share. She placed Coco’s coffee in front of her and her own across from it. The pastry, a strudel with a red berry, cherry or strawberry, sat between them.

“Got impatient, figured we could share.” She held her cup up, smiling.

Coco smiled back, taking her cup and biting her lip. “I’ll share with you anytime.” God she’s cute. I want to take that strudel and do a lady and the tramp thing with it until I’m sucking on her tongue and GOD DAMN I should have gotten laid before I came back.

“How has everything been while I’ve been gone? Have the boys been behaving?” Coco took the strudel and carefully tore off a section, sipping at her coffee and crossing her legs.

Velvet took the strudel and bit into it before putting it back down. An indirect kiss if Coco opted to take that chunk next. Someone was being a bit more flirtous than before.

“They’re doing alright. Fox is still the loveable ass, and Dashi is keeping us all out of trouble. We’ve all missed you.” The “but me the most” hung unsaid in the air. “What trouble have you been causing? Aside from breaking a bunch of girls’ hearts.”

“Oh, you know - commiserating with my brothers and fighting with my mom.” Coco replied, her eyes fixed on the chunk of strudel Velvet had left on the plate. Hesitantly, she took it, biting into it and meeting Velvet’s eyes.

I have this feeling whatever game we’re playing, V is winning, Coco thought ruefully. Telling her how I felt may have undermined my determination not to fuck things up.

“But Toma’s married now, so one more girl in the family, and maybe Mom will leave me alone more.”

Coco smiled, arching her back as Linda took their boy from atop her. “It’ll be fine. He’s a growing boy, and if all else fails he can come sleep with us. He seems to fall asleep when he’s on top of one of us almost instantly.” She rolled onto her side to watch her wife and son, smiling.

With only one hand, Linda would set up one of the sofas with a blanket and a pillow to place the sleeping Nero onto, the cat boy of course, too asleep to notice he was moved.

“There, that should be fine for now, question is now, what do we do?” She questioned, sitting next to Coco on the other sofa, which did give them an angle to watch Nero from.

Coco smiled, waiting until Linda had seated and settled herself before picking the smaller woman up and seating her bodily in Coco’s lap, Linda’s slim legs on the couch cushions so they could face each other. “Well....here’s a hint,” She mumured, her lips close enough that Linda could feel her breath.

Flannery smirked. “Unfortunately she seemed to get her father’s alcohol tolerance.” She’d been watching May pretty much the entire time, knowing that she’d have to cut her off eventually. Her daughter was an adult but she didn’t want the poor girl spending the entire night wine drunk.

Duncan seemed to huff “Dear it’s hardly fair to compare everyone to yourself. How many drinking contests did you tell me you’ve won? Nobody ever expects you to be able to do what you can do.” 

“And that’s how you play the game. If nobody expects it, they all challenge you, and the all lose their lien.” Flannery would bat her eyelashes.

Coco took the moment of Flannery speaking to her husband to lean over to May and squeeze her hand. She leaned in very close to her girlfriend, whispering in her ear. “I know you’re a big girl and you can drink if you want to, but if it helps at all, your parents are great, and I love you more because of them, not less...and it would be a shame if you were too drunk to consent to what I want to do to you later on.” She finished the statement in more of a purr than a whisper, but she left it to May what to do next.

Straightening up, Coco grinned at Flannery. “You too? My mother always said drinking contests were unladylike, but if I was challenged, be sure to win.” the fashionista grinned. “Something about showing up in a skirt makes them think I’m a lightweight...”
