My Eternal Scout costume I wore for the Welcome to Night vale live show in Vancouver on Halloween! The dress is a thrifted white Ralph Lauren frock I dyed a light purple and replaced with new purple buttons. The dark purple beret was a cheap Amazon purchase. The red scarf was a dollar store find I adorned with a handmade polymer clay woggle. The sash is a simple purple broadcloth with interfacing for strength, sewn by my lovely mama. The badges I first created in Photoshop and printed out onto Iron-on fabric paper. All designs except for the Glow Cloud, Ban on Wheat and Wheat by-product, Denial of Mountains, Scarlet Envelope, and Survival of the Summer Reading Program, (which I created), are original designs by Kate Leth that I recreated in Photoshop for purposes of ironing and badge-continuity. Otherwise, I would have purchased the beautiful creations she sells in pin and badge form, which you should definitely run out and buy right now at the Night vale store. Lastly , I cut out the badges and ironed them onto furniture protector pads, purchased from the dollar store, and adhered to the sash. Gold stars are iron-ons purchased from a local fabric shop. Not pictured : simple white gloves from costume shop dyed red, and red flats (my own).
