Stop talking about boys, I’m not ready to beat the fuck out of them just yet. You still watch spongebob in your free time and wear paw slippers, for fucks sake.

Aw, thank you, you’re cute too. And a lot more open than most people.

I get flirty when I’m drunk, my bad man.

She isn’t quite sure what drew her to Aubrey McCarthy. Maybe it was his smile, or the way his eyes twinkled in the light from the classroom window, but he just sort of…creeped up on her. It’s not to say that she didn’t like that fact, she just hadn’t expected it. An itch that just couldn’t be scratched, if you will.
Cadence had always been one to break her stereotype. The quiet nerdy and socially awkward cello player was not her mold: Sure, she adored her instrument, but she was sarcastic, extroverted, and pretty damn awesome (though she was kind of awkward at times. It’s a curse, she swears).
Regardless, her and Aubrey weren’t really the people who would normally hang out. But they fulfilled the ‘meeting during a project’ cliche, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise. They had more in common than they thought, and she still isn’t quite sure who kissed who, but one second they were talking about Romeo and Juliet, the next, there are hands and hair is being pulled, and she’s thanking God that her siblings are all in sports and her parents are sill working because it would have been humiliating if one of them had come home and found the pair fucking on her kitchen counter.
So that had happened. And it kept on happening. She wasn’t an idiot, she knew that they weren’t in a relationship, but what they had was…amazing. She would be totally lying if she said she didn’t miss it, but it was either get out or actually kind of sort of…fall for him. And it helped, sort of. It was…easier without the sex. Not as…intimate. So her ending their ‘arrangement’ was a good thing. Or that’s what she kept telling herself, anyways.
She takes a sip from her milkshake.
“How about I get a burger, you get pancakes, and we just split them both?”
“And this is why you’re the smart one.” The blonde winks, taking the milkshake away from the girl and taking a sip in attempt to just bother her a bit. It used to be a sort of little game for the two; Breezy was always doing little things in attempt to annoy Cadence, and she’d have to ‘do something about it’.
but that ordeal had ended long before. He wishes it didn’t, he really does, but it’s not like he could have done anything if she really didn’t want him like she used to. This past week though had been one that definitely brought everything back together, especially since it was dedicated to a mutual love: Music. She was beyond talented in the subject, Aubrey was more of an tone-deaf fan boy. It fit pretty well, actually; a lot of their past evenings or afternoons spent together that didn’t involve sex included her playing and him admiring, or even sometimes just Aubrey rambling on the importance of small shows and Brand New. Which, by the way, he had seen from the first time just days prior. Was it everything he dreamed of and more? Abso-fucking-lutely.
@tearsoverbreezy: the front bottoms being back on tour is the only thing I'm looking forward to this year tbh

novasparadise:
Nova was always excited to begin school, but somehow they were even more excited to begin seventh grade. It had a lot to do with the fact that their boyfriend Breezy was going to be in the same grade, so they weren’t just going to share some class, but also the same homeroom —- and they couldn’t wait to get to sit together in the back of the classroom and just hangout. Normally, they weren’t someone to talk in class, or pay attention to someone rather than the lesson and the teacher, but Aubrey was the exception. They arrived at school early, having set up an early meeting with their boyfriend – he had told them he’d be waiting at their locker, and well, Nova was beyond excited to get to see him and be back in school. Summer had been fun, and nice, it always was but with them always travelling to see their grandmother in California, they hadn’t seen much of Breezy. Turning the corner, and approaching their locker, Novs saw Aubs, and couldn’t help but smile. “Hey!” They exclaimed, and they quickened their steps to close the distance between them. “How’re you? – I missed you.” Nova said, giving him a kiss. breezymccarthy
“I missed you way more!” The grin on Aubrey’s face just wouldn’t go down. He went in for a second kiss on Nova’s cheek, worrying that his were just a little too pink. The curly haired blond adjusted the straps to the heavy backpack, filled with a bit too much school supplies him mom had a tendency to get at the beginning of the school year. Right now, though, the notebooks, three packs of pencils and whatever else his mother had thrown in there was nowhere near the one thing on his mind — It was them. <
“How was the rest of your summer? did you have fun in California? My mom wanted to know if you could maybe come over on Friday, kinda like a ‘Beginning of School Barbecue’ kinda thing? Oh! did you see the new CSI episode...”
It was pretty common that Aubrey would just be rambling when he talked with Nova; mostly at first, just because he wants to get everything he wanted to say out before he forgot it; something he was very prone to. It wasn’t like they were Aubrey's first significant other; sure, he’d had maybe a few girlfriends in the past (even a secret boyfriend two summers before), but Nova was... different, in probably the best way possible. They were, in his young mindset, the smartest and coolest person in the world probably. They liked similar crime shows, they always wanted to watch the same movies that he did, they even helped him out with his homework every once in a while. It was safe to say that he was completely smitten with them.
It all happened so fast. That sentence actually summarizes Aubrey’s relationship with Cadence in general, actually. One day they're acquaintances; a friend-of-a-friend and classmate, mostly. Aubrey always found her snarky in the cutest way possible, but never would he have imagined that someone like her would have ever done the things they did with someone like him. They just had the same english class, paired up for a project for one moment and then before he could even realize it, their hands were all over each other; hormones out of control at almost any instant where they could be alone. It was was as glorious as it was hot, but most of all, it was fun. As much as he denies it, to him, it was maybe one of the best things he ever had. When it ended, he wasn't really sure what to do. Sure, it wasn't serious—he knew better than to take what they had and warp it into something it wasn't. It was more like fucking a good friend, who turned out to be one of the most interesting people that he'd ever get the pleasure of meeting. It was more than guaranteed that that was Exactly why he was here, sitting across from her in a homey diner at three in the morning, miles away from home. Why would anyone miss the opportunity to have a little adventure with Cadence Hamilton anyways?
