“To sit alone or with a few friends, half-drunk under a full moon, you just understand how lucky you are; it’s a story you can’t tell. It’s a story you almost by definition, can’t share. I’ve learned in real time to look at those things and realize: I just had a really good moment.”
— Anthony Bourdain, in his final interview
Chained to the Moon
The "sugar daddy Sirius" fic is in the works and took a slightly different shape than I thought when @brenntheredonethat first sent me the prompt. Chapter 1 is on AO3. Here's a snippet of Chained to the Moon:
Sometimes it is a trifle, to tell a bedtime story, a trick to lull young ones to sleep.
Sometimes it is a warning, a reminder of the terrifying things that exist in the shadows, that lurk in darkness, and prowl at night. Mothers spin tales with children at their feet to remind them to stay close. To beware the sneaking elves, the crone of the forest, the mischievous hobgoblin. To not be hoodwinked by the glowing will-o'-the-wisp or the lantern man who wishes to lure you to your doom or, perhaps worse, take you as a changeling. Mothers murmur in their children’s ears to beware the screech owl, the six crows perched above the house, the bees swarming the dead and decaying tree.
But these are all shades, all mysteries spoken of in whispers and suspicion. The werewolf holds no such luxury. Werewolves aren't spoken of in hushed voices. To speak of werewolves is to shout and cry. They’re monsters, rippers of flesh, boilers of blood, shredders of bone. They deserve screams and brandished weapons, bolted doors and silver bullets. No, when mothers tell of werewolves they hold their children close and speak in fearful tones that no child can mistake. They are the devil, these vile creatures, and hold no mercy in their hearts.
Remus Lupin had a mother once, who held him close and rocked him in her arms. Whose words were a healing balm and whose kisses meant safety and warmth. When she told bedtime stories they were always sweet and ended with happily ever afters and wishes come true. They were imbued with delicate magic and life-changing love. They were summoned from the stars and the flowers, spun in her fingers like silken gold.
Perhaps that is why, then, the werewolf found them so easily.

Glad people are calling this out on TikTok but not enough likes on it compared to the “jack is innocent” ones
I’m honestly shocked by how few people have picked the fact up that Olivia did this. But at least some are talking about it.
x
when he said “i don’t trust pants anymore” i believed him
this man is god’s gift to fashion and i hope he never stops doing whatever exactly it is that he is doing
I need to get off the internet. People have the dumbest takes on this movie.
I’ve seen multiple people being like “omg Jack didn’t want the tuna in the simulation cuz he’s poor and eats tuna all the time” like ok that’s not deep or great writing
Also I said the sex scenes don’t make sense, in the script it’s penetrative which makes more sense and someone was like he had to keep her interested! I pointed out they’re in a simulation, all the women are already programmed to like and enjoy everything about their basic lives so sex would be the same. And they proceeded to reply that uou can’t program sexual attraction. As if the women in this fucking movie / simulation weren’t all kidnapped.
People are jumping thru hoops to try and make this movie deep/ make sense. I swear I fear for young harry fans because I’ve seen the worst fucking takes apologizing and romanticizing his characters behavior.
What the fuck are they even talking about? You can’t program sexual attraction but you can program someone to enjoy cleaning the house? Why are they so desperate to make this movie something it’s not?
One thing I’ve heard from a few people is that in Olivia’s reworked script the motivation for Jack’s character is very muddled and makes no real sense. Which might be why people are defending him. In the original script (which is the only one I’ve read), his desire to control her and get her to give up her career to be the perfect stay at home wife and mother—and go to any lengths to make that happen—is much more clear. In the film he just seems to want to spend more time with her because she works too much.
Like I’m in shock and terrified.
he has such a vision
Jamievaron on Twitter has a great thread on OW and her fake feminism! Truly sad that the white feminists ignore Florence's clear disdain for her because they think OW did nothing wrong.
Jamie summed it up perfectly.
Bravo! 👏🏻
Oh shit-
I know!!! Batshit crazy.
Lead female is in a mind-control device, being held against her will in a simulated reality by her nutcase husband who uses it to convince her she's in a happy lifestyle and rapes her because he wants children. Marketed as "female pleasure." #timesupolivia
HE’S SOOOOOOO
Never forgiving Olivia for running with the strategy of ‘this film is about female pleasure’. What semi decent human being, especially a ‘girl boss feminist’ depicts a film about non consensual rape, assault, simulation, and violation of freedom as female empowerment. It’s unimaginable how many young women (and men) are going to go into a theatre oblivious to what’s actually depicted on screen, especially for sexual assault victims, and witness this when the entire media coverage of this film portrayed by Olivia has been an utter lie. Truly, what kind of human being lacks that kind of decency to knowingly subject audiences to this kind of unawareness around such potentially triggering subjects when Olivia has pushed and pushed this narrative of female pleasure. What is this meant to teach young girls, women and especially men(!!!) about respect, boundaries, self worth and ownership of one’s body. Truly disgraceful and I’m so sorry to all those who are going in blindsided by Olivia’s appalling nonsense talk
Honestly, I’m amazed that literally no one pointed out what a horrible, horrible idea it was to push that angle, given the concept of the story. And the fact that it was a female director using the idea that the sex scenes in this film center on female pleasure makes it even worse.
