Remember that head-canon based Cypher/Nora fic I was writing like, literally 3-4 years ago now? Yeah. Me neither! Good news: the entire fic series including the initial Whumptober prompt that started it + the 2-chaptered fic following from its place have been reposted into a proper series on AO3.
I'd actually tried writing more drafts following but had a lot of difficulty creating a flowing narrative of their day-by-day.
Then I realized... I literally don't have to! So: moving forward, the fic series will be a collection of moments, events, thoughts, and happenings that still follow a chronological narrative, but will have more days and weeks between some story events. I enjoy making it more of a series-update than one fic having a chapter update for whatever reason... It just itches my brain a little bit better, I suppose!
The series will continue to include: profanity, depictions of canon-typical violence, with some occasional less-than-family-friendly chapters. All will be tagged accordingly. Thanks for your patience!

think in general they really should tip toe around making more ships canon bc it limits a lot of fan creativity and perception like once smth is canon people are gonna shit on most creators who continue making content of smth else (ex someone who ships yoru/chamber over chamber/viper because it's just inherently "incorrect" now to the fandom at large)

Well, chiper bullshit aside, I'm LIVING for the base concept of this storyline.
Viper is willing to tolerate agents dying for the cause—she isn't happy about it, but she'll deal with it because in her mind, some deaths are inevitable. She's said as much herself.
But when someone she cares about/loves gets hurt and nearly dies? All bets are off. Suddenly, Brimstone's strategy isn't good enough. Suddenly, someone needs to pay.
It's selfish, it's possessive, it's protective, and above all else, it's the pure and unbridled evidence of a past where she has lost too much and isn't willing to lose more. And I fucking love it.
