A - Affection : How does he show his love and affection? How intense would it get?
🦊 Foxs primarily love language is physical touch. He isn't Ren from the previous games - he has grown up, and he knows how to keep his impulses in check so he understands that you aren't gonna be jumping into his arms immediately. The plan however is training you to get to a point where you seek him out yourself, and his touch feels equal parts comfort and threat.
After some time has passed he is all over you. You will never go to sleep without him cuddling you. You cannot watch anything without him if not cuddled up next to you (and even if) grazing your skin with his claws (not enough force to break it during those moments) ,or/and his tail wrapped up around your leg. He is also very into giving and receiving massages. During his parties, if there's food involved either you're sitting on his lap or next to him one hand on your thigh. Doesn't even realize he is doing it, he just instinctively seeks you out.
Absolutely loves and melts when his partner is physical touch, and if you intent on surviving it's highly recommended you don't try and push away his affections.
🦊 Gifts are also a big one. He has money now, and he is very happy to spend it on you. Adores giving you clothes (which you will wear whenever he wishes for you to), plushies, and as he gets to know you and so long as you keep your behaviour in check you will be "rewarded" with items of your own interests such as books, art supplies and video games. He expects you to show him how extremely grateful you are about every gift.
🦊 Then of course there is quality time. He doesn't have the unlimited time he had before he started steaming but any free time he has he does like to spend with you. On days he is tired you're an addition to the routine he had already established long before you: now instead of getting home, eating, having a bath and sleeping he gets home to you waiting to greet him, often cooks with you for fun, eats while watching some anime with you. You share his self care rituals and sleep cuddled up to him.
🦊 Also - Fox is extremely into praise. Both sexual and otherwise, and it shows even during the steam when he was planning to kill you. If you're his darling you can expect to get showered with compliments. And he may believe that actions speak louder than words, but a compliment he perceives as genuine from you can light up his day.
B-Blood : How messy is he when it comes to his darling ?
🦊 Fox is very willing to see blood very often. And while he has no plans of killing you, most blood he spills in regards to you is.... Well your own. You are surveilled 24/7 even if he trusts you. There is no opportunity of anyone harming you.
🦊 That being said he WOULD be willing to pick as his next victim an abusive ex or parent from your past. Maybe he'd tell you about it maybe he wouldn't depending on how he'd think you'd react.
🦊 In a hypothetical scenario where you are at risk of being harmed he is 100% having his guards intervene and this person is probably becoming the next livesteams "star".
🦊 He wouldn't harm anyone from your previous life (I don't believe he'd even bother to harm an ex) unless he feared they were coming too close to finding you (which would be extremely difficult).
C-Cruelty : How would he treat his darling once abducted? Would he mock them?
🦊 This is strongly depended on your own behaviour. Rens training of you is way more sure than it was in the past : He has a plan formed on how he will mold you to be his pet, and he is less likely to give into emotional urges and harm you when you're rightfully showing signs of being terrified of him.
So no. He isn't going to be cruel from the start. And when he does get cruel it's not going to be consistent cruelty. He may have no idea WHY he saved you when he does it since it was a completely impulsive decision but much like past Ren, he quickly comes to realize that he does want you to like him. He will be caring with you at first so much so you almost forget that he is the reason your body is littered with scars, that he almost killed you. And then he will slowly start the circle of breaking you and bandaging you up again. Always with praises and always with kisses but he will never apologise for it.
🦊 Honestly, the only way for him to get cruel outside sex with you if you are pushing his limits - escape attempts or defying orders aren't going to go unpunished.
D-Darling : Outside of abduction would he do anything against darlings will?
🦊 He tortured and assaulted you on steams and he absolutely will torture you (to a less degree - no disfigurement or something that would kill you) outside them too. Sex strongly depends on you. He is not going to immediately be asking for it, because as mentioned above he isn't stupid : He knows you are freshly traumatized and horrified by him, and he needs to show you that he can be something other than the horrifying monster you saw during your time on camera. However he will demand it eventually (that is if you haven't developed Stockholm syndrome to the point where you initiate first) and if you don't comply he is very willing to just assault you again.
E-Exposed : How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How valuable are they when it comes to their darling?
🦊 It takes him time to open up on his past. He needs to trust you. You are never going to get sat down and listen to the whole story of what happened with Strade, mostly because it's something he really doesn't want to dwell on even more than he already has had. You, occasionally will dare ask a question, and if the time is right, he will give you an answer. Eventually you gather up enough bits and pieces to put together what happened.
🦊 He is naturally chatty with people he likes (and he hasn't had that for so very long), so when it comes to day to day frustrations prepare to hear all about it. Also asks about your day and is actually interested in it despite the fact that you aren't allowed to even leave the house.
F-Fight : How would he feel if his darling fought back?
🦊 This strongly depends on WHEN you choose to act, and how often.
🦊 Act up too much too often and you're not going to be staying his darling for long.
🦊 Acting up in the beginning though is something which while it angers him he does expect naturally. He has been in your position (and it's a struggle fighting on whether it's worth recalling back these already persistent memories to help with your training/understanding what he should do best, VS avoiding the inevitable arche that follows them). He knows you're scared. He knows you don't want to be here, and that this seems like a horrifying scenario for you. That doesn't change the fact that he will punish you. He lived with Strade,and he has an extensive knowledge of ways to torture the human body and psyche. You'll be punished enough to hesitate strongly before trying to form an attack or escape plan again. The more times you do it the punishments get progressively worse.
🦊 Defying orders (not wearing outfits he picked for you, not returning affections or accepting them) will lead much to the same results.
🦊 And after every punishment follows a reconciliation. A "why did you force me to do that?" . An apology and promise from you that you won't disappoint him like this again, that you're grateful for all he has done for you, (and as time goes by you will start to genuinely mean it).
G- Game : Is it considered a game to him? How much would he enjoy watching his darling try to escape?
🦊 It's a mix. He is entertained at your desperate delusions about escaping a house, when at first stages you have no access to anything sharp, you're surveilled by cameras and/or guards, and the windows are locked and bullet proof. Annoyed at how you don't seem to get it : You cannot escape. Views you at times like a housecat dreaming of becoming a stray. As time goes by he gets actually hurt and offended. He knows you can have random bouts of impulsivity, especially if the day before he was particularly rough on you, even when you have started to really like him, but this is an insult to his saving of you.
🦊 Strongly believe the house has a microphone connecting to his office (if it didn't before it definitely does after you shortly moved in), and he will warn you to stop testing his patience. If you get hysterical while trying to unsuccessfully escape or/and he believes you're at risk of harming yourself and he isn't home he has his guards sedate you.
H-Hell : What would his darlings worst experience be with him?
🦊 There are many horrors with living with Fox, but the worst experience will always be the steams. When he throught you were disposable, when he tortured you with 0 throughts on how any injury he inflicted could be life altering (ie : the eye) , when it looked like you were going to undoubtedly die. He feels a little guilt over it (not even half as much as you'd think) which shows itself only when/if you show signs of PTSD because of it.
I-Ideals : What kind of future does he have in mind for his darling?
🦊 He has a very well formed plan on how to train you into liking him (the target shifts rather quickly from like to love. Another thing kept from the past : Fox's emotions are very strong and he sees things as black and white. You will love him. You are going to be by his side forever. That's just unquestionable). Eventually, as you gain more and more freedom by listening to him, and as time goes by (and we mean a lot of time), you earn privileges of going outside with him! Shopping, restaurants, movie dates ect. No, this doesn't mean your body won't be littered with new bruises, bite marks and wounds every week. He does however crave a sense of normalcy to counter balance his work persona and you are his outlet for it.
🦊 He would want a family. Key word is want. This is surprisingly one of the few things he isn't going to force on you, mostly because while he loves the idea of breeding you (and his breeding kink will be there even if you have decided you don't actually want children - both as a kink and because he is breastkin and it's naturally there) having a little you and him is an euphoric idea to him. Both because its another link between you two, proof that you love him, and because he would be a naturally good dad.
🦊 That being said he also loves the freedom of not having kids since he can spend any non work hours as he wishes and doesn't have to be careful about hiding his business.
J- Jealousy: Does he get jealous?
🦊 A huge plus of keeping you home: he has no competitors. There is noone to be jealous of. He trusts his guards who at starting stages are instructed to never speak to you anyway (depriving from all human contact except his is part of making you depended on him). If you're at the stage of him taking you outside and someone flirts with you he wouldn't kill them (he isn't THAT extreme) unless they were very persistent or attempted physical contact. At any party he hosts or attends with you by his side people know better than to try and flirt. Any fool who might not (hm hm Derek and his variants), while not at risk of being harmed, they will at some point during a conversation, have Fox make an implication about some extremely damning or embarrassing secret.
🦊 Btw flirting back is a horrible idea, he will abuse you while filming and keep threatening to upload it for his fans since you enjoy the attention so much (he has no plans to do so). Do it more than once or do it once and be too flirty he is taking you to the basement again to add extra levels of anxiety.
Love letters : How would he go about courting his darling?
🦊 You have noone to talk to but him at the start. So he tries to make conversations pleasant. Even if you're at very early stages too terrified or angry to answer back he will continue talking. He wants you to start feeling comfortable with him.
🦊 As mentioned before, yes every defiance is met with punishment,and even when you haven't acted up, the sex might feel like punishment for no reason : Maybe he had a hard day at work and he is looking for an outlet. Maybe he got in his head again, memories of the past for which sometime he blames you internally for bringing back (especially if it crosses his head that you might view his as he viewed strade) , or he found some fucked up sex toy or torture device (these are interchangeable for him) he is excited to try on you.
.....but after every punishment he will comfort you. He loves hurting you but he also loves caring for you.
🦊 Fox loves romance. He has before Strade days probably. And yes - when he started his business he forgot about that aspect of himself. But with you around it shines again, and it does so even more as time goes by. Cooking at home for you, playful remarks (if he can tell you like him or are starting to he does encourage banter! So long as you don't push it, he loves it actually) , compliments, baths together where he washes your hair and you wash his, him picking your clothes and telling you how beautiful you look, gifts and as mentioned above at a later stage outside dates!
M- Mask : Are his true colours different from how he acts with everyone else?
🦊 Yes. In terms of general demeanor while playful in nature (again! He likes bantering, he likes humour dry and not) he is not as flamboyant as the announcer persona he puts on in his business.
🦊 When it comes to you, you are the person seeing Fox in all his true colours. The playful , the calmer version where he sits quietly and watches TV with you, the chatty where he can share his (often harsh) opinions on people whose names you can only attach on a face when attending a party with him if you happen to be introduced to them (always as his pet or at best some other nickname, little (co)-star being the other most often one used).
🦊 He doesn't show too much affection publicly to you when in these places - he leaves it at a hand wrapped around your waist. As a result any speculation on you from guests is often wildly different. Abused slave? Some weird version of wife? A dog? There are bets placed when Fox isn't around on whether you'll survive to the next dinner party living with him.

N- Naughty : How would he punish his darling?
🦊 You will be clawed ruthlessly, bitten to the point where it looks like a wild animal tried to maul you, and you will get knife inflicted wounds on various parts of your body as well as whip marks and handprints from where he has spanked you. Broken limps will also play part in your torment, but this particular punishment is saved for when/if you flirt with someone, make escape attempts or insult him (All that probably followed with sex, likely not consensual). The shock collar would come into play, but given that this brings back painful memories for him too not too often.
🦊 I feel like we don't talk often enough on how this man can and will use emotional abuse to punish you, as well as physical one. Push his limits too much, he will bring you to the basement again to torture you, the threat of the chat tantalising you. The greatest the offense the greatest the loss of privileges. Going back for a week or two to the place you were staying during the streams, with nothing to occupy your time but sleep, no visits, just food (and if he is feeling extra petty it's something you absolutely despise) , appearing three times a day untill he decides you've learned your lesson. Him treating you like a dog, taking away privileges of sitting on furniture, having you eat his leftovers on the floor, the shock collar taken off just for him to attach a genuine leash one and tag you around the house or force you to do "tricks " and taking away any scrap of dignity you may have deluded yourself you had earned during your time staying with him, are punishments used frequently.
O- Opression : How many rights would he take away from his darling?
🦊 Even outside the physical aspect ( torture, inability to deny sex) he literally controls every aspect of your life. What you eat (although this one is mostly untill you start liking him enough to talk about yourself/answer questions about your favourite food), what you wear, how your makeup looks, what you do with your day, the fact that you're literally unable to go outside and if you are it's only very later on, and only with him. Fox will reward you with privileges as you continue to prove yourself trustworthy, but you two aren't equal partners. The most you can do if your relationship is good is make suggestions or pleas for something and try to reason with him, but he will always have the final say and that happens even if you two have been together for years/have (a) kid(s)/ you genuinely love him.
P- Patience : How patient are they with their darling?
🦊 Surprisingly way more than expected. The biggest change from younger Ren to who he is now : He is more patient with you in regards to your struggles to adapt to life in captivity. He still has suddenly mood swings and yes if you act up too much he will lose his shit on you, but he is actually quite..... Well. Reasonable? He has put you in a horrible situation and it makes sense that you're angry or terrified and looking for ways to get out/don't want to adapt to him. It also makes sense even at later stages for you to have sudden bouts of hysteria or panick attacks when something (usually him lol) triggers memories of the steams. He will do his best to comfort you during those times. Acting out for any reason other than PTSD/mental illness is a different story. His patience is far from unlimited, and he will make you regret testing it.
Q-Quit : If his darling dies or successfully escapes will he ever move on?
🦊This is another one that strongly depends on where you are with him. Early stages : death = he will move on, but you will linger on his mind. Wouldn't take anyone home ever again. Successful escape : He will 100% find you and kill you. Not only did you betray his trust but you also are a huge liability to his business.
🦊However. Good relationship with Fox? In case of death there are three possibilities:
- HE killed you in a moment of punishment taken too far
- YOU died by your own hand (most likely scenario of the three)
- Someone killed you because you were close to him (either in an attempt to hurt him or assassination attempt and they hit the wrong target) .
If it's the third scenario, that person is going to be bought on steam and tortured in ways way more despicable and long than Fox's usual. In any case, Fox will never forgive himself. You are the best part of him, the person who has "redeemed" him. If you die he will mourn and he will mourn violently. Keeps all your stuff in a separate room. His streams for a while are pure violence, the showman persona showing way less. He is brutal, he hates himself, he hates the people he tortures, he hates the chat, he hates it all. Deeply hurt and bitter. Eventually he will go back to his announcer persona for his business. You however will never be replaced.
🦊In case of an escape? He isn't just angry, he is mad, he is hurt and he feels betrayed. Aside from being mad at YOU he is mad at his guards as well as himself. How did you even get out? After he biterly tells you that he is "impressed" by your escape, you will be punished to the point where you might start to question if he plans on killing you. Security measures get extremely tight and you lose almost if not completely, all your privileges. You have to earn his trust back.
R-Regret : Would he ever feel guilt about abducting his darling? Would he ever let darling go?
🦊Lets answer the second question first : No. Nothing but death will separate you.
🦊 As for guilt : He doesn't feel guilty over it. He has a moral conscience (admittedly a very weak one) so yes as a defense mechanism he does need to remind himself at times that he isn't Strade. He is kind to you. He treats you like he'd want Strade to have treated him. He isn't stupid enough to not know that what he is doing to you is completely screwed up, however Fox is and always has been someone who puts his own comfort above everything. Abducting you, even tho it was for the sake of killing you bought you to him! So no he doesn't regret it. If he could change one thing it would be to go back in time and tell himself to not be **this** hard on you on the streams but that's that.
S-Stima : What bought about this side of him?
🦊 So there was this one sadististic fat Germa-
🦊 But on a real note. If you remove the MCs in btd2+ykmet Fox has never had anything resembling a romantic relationship outside the one he had with Strade. And yes. Time has passed. He isn't the young version of himself putting Strade on a pedestal. He knows Strade didn't love him. That being said however, now that he is older, now that he knows how to psychologically and physically torture you, now that he knows how he'd wish to be treated by Strade, you falling on his lap is the perfect opportunity to have the only version of a romantic relationship he is capable of having.
T-Tears : How does he feel about seeing his darling scream/cry/isolate?
All these three bring different responses.
🦊 Screaming can go from something he enjoys (in bed or when he is hurting you) to annoying ( screaming matches). His hearing is better than most, due to being beastkin, so unless you're ready to deal with the consequences of annoying him : do not scream at him when mad.
🦊Crying is a huge cause of concern if caused by anything except him. If he is the cause he gets hard by it, if it's anything or anyone else he will force you to tell him and he will deal with it.
🦊 Isolation he finds offending. Sometimes when he has hurt you especially bad or if you have had a panick/anxiety attack especially, he understands that you want time to stew. That however only happens if he knows you're gonna come to him later. If you try to isolate too much for his own comfort (and the "too much" is really not that long at all) he will force you to come sit with him and talk at best case scenario.
U-Unique: Would he do anything different than the average yandere?
🦊 Aside from the fact that he doesn't have to kill off love rivals not really.
V-Vice : What weakness can his darling exploit in order to escape?
🦊 At this stage of Rens life there really isn't a way out outside of dying. He isn't letting you go. He has a house from which you can't escape. If you're outside with him and you try to make an escape attempt he probably bribes or kills off whoever you talked to. You have no access to social media.So to put it simply : you are trapped with no ways out.
W-Wits end : would he ever hurt his darling?

X-Xoanon : How much would he revere or worship his darling?
🦊Oh he adores you. When it comes to worshiping there are two things happening: Its between the "cuteness aggression" pet owners get where he just wants to kiss you all over and him genuinely being in awe sometimes of your qualities. How pretty you look in the clothes he picks for you. How cute your laugh is. How kind you are. Your durability. The fact that he "saved" you may have been an impulse decision but him keeping you is definitely not. You prove this decision right everyday.
🦊 His adoration shows in so many forms : he commissions clothes for you, has an extensive skin/hair care routine for you too now according to your skin/hair, does your nails, and yes he is overtly clingy.
Y-Yearn : How long does he pin for his darling before he snaps?
🦊 One good thing about Fox is that youve seen his crazy side immediately! Now that's that out of the way he can focus on training slash courting you 😍
Z-Zenith : Would he ever break his darling?
🦊 In the sense of making you like him? No. No he wouldn't. He remembers Strade making him kill people or sexually assault them. The last one is out mostly out of possessiveness, but also because -same as murder- he doesn't want to be to you what Strade was to him.

This is probably going to be a long one. It turns out that ever since I discovered btd 1 and 2, and tpof, I've always been really curious about Ren's character. I imagine that just like me, people must have been surprised to see how he had become in Tpof. I'm SO excited for Ykmet! I know this game is mainly focused on Strade, because of course his name is there! XD
I love him too, but I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the parts with Ren. I know about the changes that Gato has prepared for him, and I hope they're positive, I trust what she's doing.
Anyway! I think I've gone on too long. The thing is, since I finished Tpof, I haven't found many people who give analysis to the older Ren character. I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place, but I always thought tumblr was the best place to look, because the fandom seems more active here.
There were many things I didn't understand, because I'm terrible at analyzing, I try, but I constantly feel like I end up overthinking, my head always tries to provide several explanations like A, B, C, D, and it goes beyond that.
From your perspective, opinions and thoughts on the DLC, what do you think people often miss about Fox? Something you noticed that some people probably didn't. I would particularly like to know about your interpretation of the ending. Yes, I know it's straightforward and clear, he saves us. But I've always wondered about his motivations. I think that conversation we have with him in the bunker affects him, but in what way? What are his thoughts? And what are his thoughts about us after that?
I constantly noticed that he was also always adjusting his posture in his streams, and in the third one when he bites and then licks the wound on Mc's neck, then he looks almost embarrassed. Was it just because he got too excited or was it something else that i didn't catch because im too stupid? lmao
I'll end the ask here or it will be too long, I apologize for that, and if I didn't manage to express my questions very well
(although, if you answer this, I hope it's okay if I ask a bit more)
I think Fox has built this new version of himself based on being in control. He used to be a captive, always weary of Strade, and then trying and failing to be in control of MC in btd2 (who either died or escaped, given that this is Ren’s darker path). After that, he wanted to be in control for once.
He runs the entire auction system, he has his own show, and he’s incredibly good at what he does. That security not only makes him confident in what he does now, but it makes him finally like who he is (at least, he thinks.)
Young Ren was struggling a lot with his image and self worth, in terms of being treated as a pet/property, being abused, and then convincing himself that it was all because Strade loved him. Those years affected his mind so much. When his plan with MC went wrong after the second game, I think he realized that he should have been following Strade’s advice more. He fell back into that mental state of idolizing Strade and his way of doing things, his way of thinking. Why would Ren try anything else? Of course Strade was right. (This is the wrong idea, sadly, but it must have been the conclusion he turned to.)
It started as him trying to follow the footsteps of the only person he’d ever had to look up to— Strade. That’s why he started doing shows, because Strade was successful and Ren wanted to follow his example. He was also swayed a lot by emotion, the loneliness he felt and the emptiness he has after Strade’s death. Continuing his legacy was a way to fill the void, at least a little. He also needed money sooner or later.
Over time, he started to make it his own. He started to think less about Strade and more about himself. By the time we see Fox, he’s pretty much moved on from Strade. He does it as his own show, in his own name, his own life.
He is a great showman, naturally. That’s where the posture, gestures, and lively way he talks comes from. He knows how to entertain an audience, and he’s spent years perfecting that skill. He does enjoy the shows, to an extent. But remember, when MC asks him why he does this? Because he’s good at it.
He does like the feeling of being in the spotlight, and entertaining an audience— but his answer wasn’t because it’s his passion, not because he likes being in power, but because he’s good at it.
He’s accustomed to it.
The thing I think people miss is that Fox still has that unsure feeling inside.
Deep down, he likes you. And he wants to keep you. But the show must go on! He likes who he is now, and he has to perform for chat. Like I said, it started out as ‘that’s what Strade would have done’ when he was younger, but now he’s moved on from Strade and just become so conditioned to it that he doesn’t know how to break the cycle.
It’s how the show goes: he tortures someone, does what chat wants, gets paid, and they die in the end. That’s how it’s always gone. But what about when he grows attached?
An Easter egg to prove my point:

He literally hurts himself for letting you go, because he’s realized he likes you, but he doesn’t know how to deny chat.
(this happens when you make all the wrong choices when he visits you in the bunker before show 3. Making all the right choices will result in the survival ending.)
That’s why the survival ending is so critical to his character— he did something for himself. Because he wanted to. It’s a sign of him breaking free, and realizing that he can be in charge.
MC’s dialogue choices are important there too. When he tells MC their fate is up to chat, and you say “I thought you were in charge?” It makes him stop and think. You set things in motion for him. That leads you to the ending where he saves you.
As for when he licks the blood on your neck, I think he got a little flustered because he let his animal side show/let his composure fall a bit. A big part of these shows is the power imbalance between him and the victim, and he always puts on a front of being more put together than they are.
But yeah, that’s my mini analysis on Fox. There’s so much more to his character, but that’s for a later date ;)

After he takes MC home, will he ever let her go outside or take her anywhere, or will MC always sit at home without the opportunity to see the street? And if he does take her somewhere, won't he be afraid that someone will recognize MC as one of the missing people? 2. Is it really safe to leave MC at home unattended? Like, Fox works a lot, and if he's going to leave MC alone in the house, isn't he afraid that she will somehow escape or call for help? 3. When Fox is in heat, does he even go to work? And if so, will he take MC with him or not? Can he even work normally during this period, considering that all he thinks about is breeding? 4. If MC was a fan of horror games, would Fox like to play such games with her? (Again I love your headcanons and sorry for any mistakes English isn't my native language)

For the most part, no, he never takes MC out. It could be never at all. But if it happens, it won’t be for a long long time, and Fox will be by their side the entire trip, only going places he chooses and deems ‘safe’ to be seen. For the most part though, MC is a house pet only.
there’s always risks, but he takes precautions! It depends on MC’s prior behavior too, but things like chains, being locked in a single room, the shock collar with an adjustable perimeter, and cameras that alert him when there’s movement by the exits, really ease his worries.
I don’t think so. Ren/Fox gets very overwhelmed and even delirious during his heat, and can only focus on sex; he can’t work efficiently, and would never let his employees (or worse, his customers) see him like that. He has someone he trusts fill in for him on those days. Although, I don’t think he brings MC to work with him at all once he takes them home. They had their time in the spotlight, now they belong to him alone.
if they’ve lived together a long time, and Fox considered MC to be ‘fully trained’ and trusted then well, yes, he’d do more domestic things like that with them. Fox, although having much more confidence now, does have some internal conflict when it comes to keeping you. In a lesser-known moment in TPOF, he was about to stop you from gutting yourself before backpedaling, but it’s clear he regrets it.

Ren had been streaming for many years by the events of TPOF.
