Sun and Moon Legendaries
uYo! So I don’t know if people know this, but the trademarks for the Sun and Moon pokemon that were shown today had surfaced a little while back! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXwF5Fgyv1E Here’s a link to a video of someone discussing it. So the names of the legendaries, at least in Japanese are
SOLGALEO
and
LUNAALA
These are the Japanese translated names, of course, so their final names might vary.
OH AND ANOTHER THING.
A lot of folks are mentioning a specific artist who made fake starters eerily similar to the actual starter pokemon.
A grass owl, a fire cat, and a water seal. It’s very clear to see where they are getting their attention from, since these are incredibly similar. However, like the legendaries, the starters were trademarked as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4RAX7n4fDQ The names that were trademarked were NYABBY, MOKUROH, & ASHIMARI. -Mokuroh comes from the root words Moku, meaning tree or wood, and Fukuro, meaning owl. -Ashimari comes from Ashika, meaing Sea Lion, and Mari, coming from Marine. Mari also means ball, fittingly enough! -Nyabby comes from Nya (You know, like Nya?) and By, which means Fire. I think. I can’t find a reputable source on that last bit, so they might have just assumed it was fire, since the other 2 were so obviously water and grass.
These starters were drawn after the trademarks were announced, and their names are the exact kanji of what the names are, so it’s safe to say that they drew inspiration from the information provided to them. Still, amazing art. Would have been interesting to see these real.
Nonetheless!
Just wanted to provide some more information to our new target of hype, as I’m sure we’re all waiting eagerly for our next tidbit of information. Maybe they’ll do something with Marshadow, the last trademark name found? Maybe. Only time will tell.
Hope that cleared up some stuff for some folks! Have a good rest of your day!
