My Sheila..
Do you ever see a comic panel and decide to banish it from your memory because it’s that devastating?
Do you know what'd be awesome? If we based Jason's behavior as Robin off of his actual behavior as robin. Instead of making headcanons and assumtions on his behavior based entirely off The Streets™. Like. Its a nice addition to his character and motives to explore further. But lets not forget he has actual comics as Robin you can pull from as reference to his behavior. He has a robin run. You can read it. You can base writing his robin off of his robin.
Nightwing #143 (DC, October 2026) cover by Jorge Fornés
Let's play swords with mama.
Source: Batman and Robin (2011) Issue #0.
really specific trope i like that i feel like can only be explained in a diagram
Movie was great idgaf
My brothers.
Damian will return in Nightwing #143. Rejoice, I say. Rejoice.
They yearn for each other
They complete each other
They’re GOOBERS together
They even. They even have the same smirk.
MY BOYS.
A quick sketch that ended up being neither quick nor a sketch for Damian’s 20th anniversary <3
merry 20th anniversarymas damian wayne
Damian Wayne
Today marks his 20th anniversary which means I’m gonna yap about him since as we all should know he’s my favorite
I’m gonna make a list of comics or individual issues that I would recommend everyone who likes Damian read, even if you just read one of them
I’m gonna try (emphasis on try) and put it in order, but like. If I don’t I don’t
Damian first made his appearance in Batman #655, with their first full meeting happening in Batman #657
God I love this photo it’s just so silly
Batman and Robin (2009)
This is when Damian becomes Robin to a Dick Grayson Batman. They have a very solid relationship band dynamic that does get referenced every so often, tho I wish it was brought up more. This is also the run in which Damian gets batcow and announces himself to be a vegetarian
But as we all may or may not know
They are the best
Next we’ve got Batman streets of Gotham (10-11)
Where Damian and his friend Colin save children from Victor Zsasz behind Batman’s back of course
Batman/Superman 77
partners up with Damian to solve a series of gruesome murders in Metropolis
Now you might wonder why this is here, but I personally really love the relationship between Kara and Damian. I also feel like it’s a bit underutilized but they really used her stuff help people see Damian in a bit of a different way and help people kind of realize that Damian is pretty funny
Stephanie Brown Batgirl #17
I would recommend this whole run to anyone in a heart beat. It’s a good book and does have other good stuff involving Damian, but this issue specifically has always been my favorite
Damian’s sibling relationship with Stephanie has always been near and dear to my heart but in this issue you really get to see that unlike most people Stephanie really does see Damian as a kid before an assassin
Batman and Robin (2011)
The first proper story for Bruce and Damian as Batman and Robin. In this run they have to start getting used to working with each other and how they do things and Bruce even having to come to certain terms with how his son was raised
A lot of stuff happens in this run and I love this book (tho I do love lost things done by this creative team)
This run also takes place during the time Damian dies
Robin: Son of Batman Vol 1 Year of Blood
Damian’s first ever solo run
This is another case of I would recommend the whole story, but if you have to only read some of it I would recommend Year of Blood
This takes place not long after Damian comes back to life, he wants to make up for his past and the worst things he did while with the League of Assassins
During this he also must rectify what he did to Nobody’s daughter (in the first arc of Batman and Robin 2011)
The Boy Wonder
This is a black label book so technically it’s not really canon, BUT I think this book is a more then amazing character study on Damian
It’s an amazing book and I love Juno Ba’s work
Superman (2016) 10-11
THE FIRST MEETING IF THE SUPER SONS
This shows their reluctance team up and their work to adapt to each other into becoming the best friends we know and love today
Nightwing 43
A more silly lighthearted one shot involving Damian and Roy that leads an unlikely trio
Truth and Justice 6
Damian has been taken on his birthday, and while his family comes to help/save him. He must decide what he wants for himself and it he wants what is being given to him
Robin 2021
Now personally I LOVE this book
This is a pretty well known Damian book, but for those of you who might not know, in this run Damian separates himself from his family and goes to a Island to participate in the Lazarus Tournament
You get to see Damian beyond just his family and even come to terms with things for himself
Batman and Robin (2023)
This book is amazing, it’s everything that someone could want in a book for Damian, this boon redefines things for the character and gives him passion and drive to really connects him to the city he lives in
But if you can’t read all of this run, I would recommend 25-30 it really tells you who Damian is especially in issue 29
DC KO Knightfight #4
A possible future that Bruce lands himself in where Damian is Batman, and not only is he Batman, but he’s a good one.
Helping the city, fighting crime, becoming a doctor, and raising his son
He went above and beyond for to help the city and even cure it
“Damian wanted to escape Talia”
“Talia hates Damian”
Stop reading your ao3 bullshit racist white savior Fanfictions with the belief that they’re canon.
thank you mr watters 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Finally doing art, sometimes, hello
Dr. Damian, Redbird & Batman
So I know a lot of people want Damian to retire to be a doctor - both post-Batman and Robin, and now reinforced with Fraction's "go to college meet hot girls, got in four years early" bullshit. And I think that's a horrible take for two reasons.
One, he wants to stay in Gotham, have friends, be a kid instead of speed running education and his future. That was literally the main point of the Batman & Robin arc. That he could have a civilian life of his choosing, AND do the vigilante stuff. Because that was what he wanted - BOTH.
And also because he - much like Jaybin - genuinely enjoys the brawls. Sure, he doesn't want to KILL anyone, now, and feels bad because he DID kill so many people, thus the whole make amends be a doctor thing. But he gets so excited to fight - like at the Lazarus Tournament, or any time he faces off against the hoard of assassins or whatever. The kid wants to brawl.
He has been shown more than once to treat the doctor/healing he does as penance. And to have unbridled joy when it comes time to actually throw down.
IDK man, Damian contains multitudes. He can be Redbird and break all the rules of what people think he should be limited to, on his own terms. And further on, Batman. Why not? The limit does not exist.
He can also join his al Ghul family on their ecological mission to try to fix the earth without resorting to being an assassin-killer-puppet like he's been trained to be.
Rule his kingdom his own way, Redbird style -- Wayne, Al Ghul, Doctor, Bat.
"Robin is grounded. Redbird makes his own rules."
I always forget how adorable Damian is in Batman Inc. It's that childish defiance and pride - it's really so much fun. He's come such a long way as a character and grown so much from when he first arrived.
