Emergency apartment funds

I hate having to ask for help but currently I’m in a really bad living situation. I live with an abuser who manipulates me by threatening my financial stability and the safety of myself and my animals, and has threatened to kick me out multiple times. I would have no where to go and would be living on the street if this happened. I need to move out as soon as possible.

I’m disabled and cannot hold a job due to sciatica (inflammation of the sciatic nerve in my back) and tendonitis in my knees that prevents me from standing for any length of time without extreme pain. I’ve tried medicine, physical therapy, braces but nothing seems to help. I also have chronic depression and anxiety, which prevents me from being able to perform tasks a ‘normal’ person could do easily. I often have days where I can’t even get out of bed and I never know when these days will be which makes it impossible for me to hold a steady job. I’ve been fired twice because of this.

I have found a home that I could rent, but the downpayment itself is $500 that I don’t have, not counting food or fuel for my car. I desperately need help getting away from my abuser and on my feet. Please don’t feel obligated to donate, just a share would help me so much.

Actually that's an American alligator (alligator mississippiensis)! You can tell by snout! The one displayed above is short and rounded, with only its upper teeth visible. Crocs on the other hand have a longer, more pointed snout, and both the upper and lower teeth are visible with the mouth closed, which gives them that notorious toothy 'grin'.

The best advice I’ve ever received about managing my depression/anxiety/adhd is that disability exists in the context of the environment. Accommodations are not about changing yourself to work in your environment — it’s about changing your environment to better work for you.

So yeah, get a tiny trash can and put it by your door. Store your towels in your bathroom so you can immediately change them when they smell funny. Hang a basket by your door for your gloves and earbuds. Leave a box of cliff bars by your door so you never leave without breakfast. Change your environment and change your life!

Not that I should have to justify their labor but people crack me up with this just flipping burgers shit. How do you think trucks get put away? Supplies get put away? Who do you think does the ordering of all the food that you eat? How do you think dishes get washed? Who do you think cleans the stores including the bathroom? Food has to be properly dated. The temperature of food has to be taken to ensure it doesn’t fall into the danger zone. Most people who handle food have to pass OSHA tests. They have to pass inspections by both the health department and other outside companies like Steritech. Food handlers work with dangerous equipment like fryers, slicers, meat grinders. Which are not always in the best shape because companies are to cheap to maintain them. Not to mention working with the public who have a low opinion of them because they “just flip burgers.” Yet these same people will throw a hissy fit if their fast food isn’t served fast enough because they really think all fast food works (and other food handlers) just flip burgers.

Any. Single. Retail or food service job I have EVER had was harder physically and mentally/emotionally than every office job I ever had COMBINED. No office job has had random twerps coming in to scream at me to break company rules or state and federal laws because they need their particular fix as a nigh-daily feature.

Emergency Vet Bills

My beloved cat Sylvester has had stomatitis (inflation of the mouth and stomach caused by gingivitis of the gums) since November of last year and we’ve been able to pay his vet bills so far, but today I took him back because I noticed blood and it turns out he has a tumor growing on the left size of his mouth which is bleeding and causing extreme irritation on top of his stomatitis. I now have to pay for his biopsy, hospitalization, anesthesia on top of the antibiotics which is totaling around $443. I hate to ask for help but I can’t afford this bill on my own (I was just in a wreck and now have to fork out over $5000 for a new tail light and bumper since it’s the only transportation I have).

Anything helps, I don’t want my boy to suffer. I will be adding to this post later with a complete breakdown of prices so you know what your money is going towards once I get the vet bill.

We managed to raise a little over $150, and the bill was lowered to about $413 as his hospitalization fee was zeroed our and $15 was taken off for some dubia roaches I sold to my vet for his beardies. Sylvester is back at home and feeling better; we know because he's eating like a champ!
