SO, maybe he needs to… be more careful when the Quidditch team is… celebrating in the common room after winning a big match, because he wouldn’t be surprised if one of his lovely cousins ( looking at you, Rose ) ratted him out to his parents.

there wasn’t anything rose enjoyed more than watching her fellow gryffindor’s have fun. it just so happened to be that most of her housemates were somehow related to her, but james on the other hand looked as if he was truly enjoying himself. what type of person would she be if she didn’t tease him?

“Rosie!” Hugo called from the kitchen of their home as he frantically searched drawers for something he deemed rather important. “Rosie, have you seen our school supplies list? I-I know I had it. I just.. I-I had it and I even wrote it down three times a-and now it’s– N-Now it’s been moved which means it isn’t where it should be!” Hugo was rapidly starting to panic. His OCD was the reason that he was always so organized but one little thing out of place… and he panics. “H-Have you seen it!?”

her heart skipped a beat at the sound of her name, she knew something was off with the tone of his voice. rose jolted up from her bed, as she quickly made her way down to the kitchen. “hugo.” her voice was soft, barely audible, her blue eyes glancing over the mess in the kitchen, before making contact with his. “no, i haven’t seen your list, but i’m sure we can find it.” rose knew that he words wouldn’t have the proper effect she was hoping for. “let’s just retrace your steps, can you tell me that last place you saw your supply list?” it pained her to see her brother like this, she didn’t know what to do to help him,, to put his emotions at ease. “it’s going to be okay, we’re going to find it.” rose didn’t care how difficult their search might be, she wasn’t going to give up.

“I’m not certain how many days, but the Deputy Minister practically insisted, so perhaps a vacation, yes.” Though she’s quite certain Harry had done prodding of the Deputy himself; he was usually the brunt of Hermione’s exhausted moods and insistant work-until-you-can’t ethic that likely had him begging for a break. She plants another kiss to Rose’s head and steps by her, on the way to boil the kettle for tea for the both of them.

“I’m all yours. Always. The wizading world can wait.”

“do you honestly remember the last time you took off of work?” rose couldn’t recall the last time they had taken a proper family holiday. there had been times when she hated her mother’s job, it was as if they had stolen her from right under her nose. “i’m just glad we have time to spend as a family, hugo and i won’t be children forever, mum.” rose reminded her gently, it seemed like time had just passed them by, she didn’t want to let another memory just slip through her hands.

“he’s bound to mess up, you do know that, right?” no matter who her mum left in charge, it always had a way of coming to bite them in the arse later on. “the only person i trust besides you at the ministry is uncle harry.” rose had never been shy to share her thoughts with her mother, there was no point in lying to her. her blue eyes glanced up at her, a smile began to form as she felt her mother’s lips against her head.

“i hope you’re right mum.”
