it wasn’t difficult to sense her mother’s mood, deep down she worried for her mum, and the toll the job often took on her. she often wondered how she managed to do it all and balance everything so perfectly. she returned hermione’s embrace, taking a few seconds just to enjoy their hug, before releasing herself from her arms. her eyes meeting her mother’s warm stare, taking in every single detail upon her face. she raised an eye brow, sliently wondering when she had last gotten some sleep.
“really?” rose questioned, her tone was filled with surprise and a bit of doubt, knowing that some point her mother’s work would interfere with their family time. “how many day are they giving you? does this mean we finally have a chance to have a family vacation?” rose had so many questions, but for now she would just have to accept the details hermione had given her. “i’m glad that we don’t have to share you with the rest of the wizarding world.”
“What is it with the tone of surprise? Between you and your father, one would think I never take time off.” She quips, lips curling upward at the corners. Suddenly Rose seems entirely too grown up and she feels her heart in her throat; Hermione swallows thickly and readjusts her smile.
“I’m not certain how many days, but the Deputy Minister practically insisted, so perhaps a vacation, yes.” Though she’s quite certain Harry had done prodding of the Deputy himself; he was usually the brunt of Hermione’s exhausted moods and insistant work-until-you-can’t ethic that likely had him begging for a break. She plants another kiss to Rose’s head and steps by her, on the way to boil the kettle for tea for the both of them.
“I’m all yours. Always. The wizading world can wait.”
