Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Ginny must really have the most amazing Bat-Bogey Hex.
I mean, George specifically mentions it, saying that “size is no guarantee of power“ which you’d know if you’d “been on the receiving end of one of her Bat-Bogey Hexes.” (OotP)
Then to get away from the Inquisitorial Squad in Umridge’s Office, “Ginny was the best, she got Malfoy - Bay-Bogey Hex - it was superb.” (OotP)
But then, Slughorn, who surely would have overlooked the Weasleys completely in his search for talent, “saw this young lady perform the most marvelous Bat-Bogey Hex.” (HBP)
Harry specifically worries about “her reputation as an accomplished caster of the Bat-Bogey Hex” while coaching Quidditch (though to be fair he hasn’t seen it yet). (HBP)
I wonder what it is about that makes Ginny so spectacular at Bat-Bogey Hexes, or how you can even tell that her Bat-Bogey Hex is so great. There’s definitely a part of me that enjoys her consistency of awesome with it, though!

Day 10: Favorite Spell
I choose the Bat-Bogey Hex. Even their is no real useful point this spell, can really argue that it be funny to see. Ginny is known for her use of it and it is the best that Slughorn has seen. Besides, Draco did deserve it in OoTP. I wish they would have used it in the movie
"I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having friends."
Prompt: Harry uses extendable ears to eavesdrop on Ginny as she talks with Hermione about her (Ginny's) feelings towards Harry.
It took stealth, and Harry didn’t have much of that, but he was going for it anyway.
The extendable ear was getting lower and lower, towards Ginny’s room. Luckily she was just beneath Ron’s, because otherwise it would have taken a lot more sneak, and he would not have been able to do it. It looked a little creepy, and it probably was, but he just wanted to hear what her and Hermione were talking about. They were so secretive in front of him and Ron… he was curious.
"… I don’t really know what to do!" Ginny sounded out of breath, like she’d been talking for a while, and/or ranting, and he’d just heard the end of it.
"Wait, so repeat for me," Hermione replied in her calming voice, "just… summarise, I guess."
"Seriously?" Ginny sounded rather annoyed, and it made Harry smile to hear it. "Basically… Okay so I think I like Harry again and I don’t know how to deal with it."
The confession made a jolt of something go through Harry, and her realised (belatedly) that he’d dropped the extendable ear. “Shit!” he muttered, before returning hurriedly to Rons room, not without tripping over something unknown and yelling a (too-loud) profanity.
