Captain and I were having a conversation at dinner today, and we have a question for the peeps of Tumblr.
Can Mermaids have anal sex; and if so, where would the anus be found? Pouch in the front? In the back near the butt cheeks? Some mysterious third option?
Please help a girl (and her very confused husband) out.
Can mermaids have anal sex; and if so, where would the anus be?
So I had my uterus roto-rotored and napalmed today.
(Does anyone else remember Roto-Rotor plumbing cleaner commercials on TV, or is it just me? Christ, I'm old.)
(Side rant - it's only taken thirteen years to get a doctor willing to agree to do an ablation because my periods are sometimes incapacitating, and it is only because my iron has dropped so low that I have to take supplements and get infusions that they even bothered to consider my request this time. I wanted a hysterectomy; but, I'm 50 years old, at this point I'll take what I can get. Angry rant detour over.)
I have the kind of veins that make phlebotomists grumble under their breath and insist that, "No, I got this, we don't need to get Maude from the NICU up here, I can do th-okay, someone page Maude."
Thick skin, small and sneaky veins that roll away and hide.
Today, I tell the anesthesiologist guy who was going to do my IV that I have veins that look good at first but it's all a lie and you can't trust any of them. He did not believe me. (Like a fool.)
I also told him that the doctor I talked to in my pre-op meeting said to ask for an ultrasound machine right off the bat before I let anyone near me with a needle. Then my husband and I stared him down until he ordered the machine.
It was an ancient machine. The screen only flickered on for a few seconds at a time, and only when you repeatedly hit a button. So he ordered a second, equally as ancient, machine. The picture was crap; but at least it stayed on. Ten minutes and two gel covered, slimy arms later, he thought he had found a good vein. He optimisticly got his gear together and was ready to go, double-checked with the ultrasound wand to make sure he was all good... and then the vein was gone. Poof. Completely disappeared like it had never been there in the first place.
Obviously I laughed, because what else was I supposed to do. I'd already apologized for having garbage veins several times.
His boss appeared, probably to ask why I still didn't have an IV after fifteen minutes at this point. She looked at the ancient machine, the remaining coating of ultrasound jelly slime on both my arms, and the guy slumped over my left arm in defeat and immediately ran off to the cath area to steal one of the good machines.
So I eventually got an IV in my left inner arm, right between two letters of my tattoo. Then it was pretty much sleepy time, and all was well...
Until I woke up and noticed there was no IV in my left arm anymore. And, oddly, my medical bracelet was now on my left wrist and not the right.
I fought to focus my eyes and looked at my right arm to discover that I had been stabbed not once, not twice, but three(!) new times; and now the migrating IV was inserted into my right shoulder/armpit area.
"What happened?" I asked because seriously, WTF?
"The first one stopped working."
So I pointed to the already large bruise on my right inner wrist. "And this?"
"That one blew."
I pointed at the bruise on the back of my hand that still had dried blood on it.
"Same. They ended up needing to use your shoulder."
I was unconscious for all of this, thankfully, so I have no idea how much of my procedure time was taken up with chasing down a good vein; but I imagine no one in there had been having a good time.
However, I still have a green bruise from a blown vein left over from an MRI in late May on my right arm, a fresh bruise from an iron infusion from three days ago on my left hand, and now three new blown veins and fresh IV bruises forming on the right from today. I am running out of semi-normal places to stab and I still have a CT scan (with the possibility of needing contrast?) in three days, AND another iron infusion the day after that.
To top it all off, when I got home and finally had a chance to start wiping all that dried ultrasound jelly and adhesive gunk off, I discovered another bruise starting to bloom in my right inner elbow. Bringing today's IV insertion attempts to five! Four misses and one success.
The ablation itself went well, and the loopy drugs are almost worked out of my system; so, fingers crossed I stop bleeding like the elevator scene from the Shining every twenty-eight days!
one thing about me is that I'm looking stuff up. you mentioned something and I don't know it? I am pulling out my phone and googling that shit. an actor? theoretical physics? a world leader? a vocabulary word? I am on the wikipedia page as we speak
I'm thinking about getting the book; but, I don't want to waste money if people think it sucks.
The little clips I've seen of the series look good, though. I don't have the spoons to track down the series to watch right now; but, I might be motivated to do it if anyone thinks it's worth the effort.
Still haven't had a chance to watch season 4 of "Bridgerton". I want to binge rewatch the first three seasons first, and finding time to do that when the thirteen year-old isn't liable to pop in at any second is wee bit difficult at the moment.
The clips of Ben's puppy dog eyes looking at Sophie in devotion are about to break my resolve to watch the seasons in order.
I have thoughts about season 5. While I am disappointed that we won't be getting Eloise's story yet, I am looking forward to Fran/Michaela. I saw the tiniest clip of them doing the brief, yearning finger brush thing that all Bridgerton couples get to experience and I was like "Yep, here we go, settle in for the pain train. It's gonna be beautiful." (I do hope we'll get hints for Eloise's season sprinkled in though. I loved her book.)
why does this have 32k notes? it’s just a picture of a knife in a ranch bottle, is there some unspoken joke that 32 thousand people share? what is going on here, i dont get it. it’s just a fucking picture of a knife in a ranch bottle. is there some spiritual connection people have to this picture? is there some ominous and mystical reasoning that this has 32 thousand notes? do people reblog this because it makes them look like some indie blogger? or is there just something funny to this? someone please explain
Time for my completely wild and uneducated speculation about who the next season of Bridgerton (season 5) will focus on.
Bit of spoilers for the end of season 4 and the books, reader beware.
Keep in mind - We know Bridgerton has already been renewed for season 5 and 6. Each season seems to take a year-and-a-half to two years to come out; which could mean we would hypothetically be looking at as much as a six year wait for season 7, if we were to get a season 7. Remember that.
If I remember correctly, which I am probably not so I apologize in advance - Book Michael (Michaela (sp?) in the series) leaves the country for an extended period (years?) after John's death to try to deal with his feelings for Fran. If they go a similar route and don't want it to seem like Fran is jumping straight into another relationship before she's even finished mourning John, and that Michaela has had time to really consider and accept what it will mean to start a longterm romantic relationship with her cousin's widow... the show may want to work in a significant time jump between the end of season 4 and the beginning of Fran and Michaela's story.
Now looking at Eloise, her book is number 5 in the line-up; but switching book order around with Fran's wouldn't be unimaginable. They did it with Colin and Benedict already.
In book 5, Eloise ends up with a widower and father of two named Philip Crane. That name may sound familiar since it is the same as the character who married Marina Thompson (Penelope's pregnant cousin from season 1) so that he could provide some protection and legitimacy to his dead brother's lover and their children. The children are old enough to be adorable little terrors in the book, and Philip's late wife died long enough ago that it would not be unseemly for him to remarry. Book Philip was married to a Marina, but the entire subplot with her being Pen's cousin and engaged to Colin was made up for the series and not from the book. I image, though, that the series is going to make the two Marina's one and the same if they decide to bring Philip in as Eloise's love interest. I'm not sure if there has been enough canon time between the birth of Marina's twins and when she would need to have passed on for the book Eloise storyline to happen. Maybe there has been? Math is hard and I'm tired. If there hasn't though, an extended time jump might be needed for her as well.
Remember what I said earlier about how season 7 could be 6 years away from now, and isn't even guaranteed?
This is going to sound crazy... but I honestly think there is a teeny tiny chance that the show runners may consider combining Eloise and Fran's storyline into season five, possibly setting it after a plot appropriate time jump.
And then combining Greg and Hy's storylines into season 6, the last currently ordered TV season.
I honestly can not see the series still being in production in 8 years for the last kid (whichever one it would be). Especially with the same actors for the older siblings. Either they are going to have to miss some kids or start combining storylines somewhere.
And that is my insanely stupid Bridgerton season 5 and 6 theory.
I've been sick (or "sick", depending on who you ask) for over a year so far.
The kind of sick that involves urgent care visits, more doctors' appointments than I can remember, and medical test after test after test.
Whatever is wrong is the kind of thing you don't really diagnose, so much as you eliminate things until you end up with an answer.
And that is assuming that there is one issue; and it's not actually four random cootie raccoons huddled in a trench coat, pretending to be an unknown disease kaiju.
Anywho, I get to look forward to even more testing in the new year; and the dwindling hope that I will be able to spend time with my family, maybe enjoy a hobby, be able to stay awake for longer than a few hours a day, maybe stop nearly fainting every day? I know I'm luckier than many, and I should be grateful for what I have. But I want my life back.
Anywho... I just thought I'd pop in and explain why I've been virtually invisible for the last year, in case there is anyone around who still remembers me.
