I have a lot of thoughts about Jeffs arc on season 6. His whole thing up until now was learning to love Greendale, and now that he has, now that he finally found a place where he finally belongs (a place hes been looking for ever since his father left) it's already too late. Everyone else is ready to move on. And hes stuck. He's getting old, he has no potential (he thinks), everyone is leaving him, and he is not ready to leave. He doesnt think he'll ever be ready.
Which is why I think Abed leaving on the finale was heartbreaking. Jeff adores Abed, and Abed always assured him that he wasnt going to change, that that wasnt his jam, that he would stay a constant in jeffs life. Him leaving symbolizes everything really ending (which is suiting; abed started everything and now hes ending it), and jeff knows it, and he doesnt know how to deal with it.
And hes NEVER allowed to confront his fears or his insecurities, or deal with his feelings. The show just leaves him alone, exactly how he started, except hes now a different man. And he knows what he had and what hes lost.
i cannot explain how much i love this picture.

So maybe we are caught in an endless cycle of screw-ups and hurt feelings, but I choose to believe it’s just the universe’s way of moulding us into some kind of super group. Like The Traveling Wilburys. Yes, Troy. Like The Traveling Wilburys of pain, prepared for any insane adventure life throws our way. And I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to every one of them.
