         JULIA  WAS  THE  LOVE  OF  HIS  LIFE ,  even  after  her  death ,  magnus  never  let  go  of  his  wife’s  heart ,  a  widower  that  would  remain  so  until  he  rejoined  her  wherever  they  met  again .   her  words  are  met  with  a  shy  laugh ,  it’s  as  if  magnus  is  a  teenager  again .   he  leans  forward ,  takes  her  hand  in  his  own ,  calloused  thumb  brushing  across  her  knuckles .   ‘   i  love  you  too ,  jules .   ’   he  murmurs ,  and  it  sounds  softer  than  magnus  has  ever  spoken  before ,  laden  with  the  love  he  hadn’t  been  able  to  give  her  since  her  untimely  death .   ‘   you  have  no  idea  how  long  i’ve  been  waiting  to  hear  that ,  you  know .   ’

          IT’S  ALMOST  AS  IF THIS  MOMENT  WAS  TAILOR - MADE  FOR  HIS  DREAMS ,   old  age  has  taken  magnus  elsewhere ,  and  it  all  happens  so  fast  and  so  slow .   it’s  been  years ,  and  it’s  like  a  sea  of  aching  drowns  him .   she  was  his  love ,  and  he  had  missed  her  more  than  anything ,  he  had  forgotten  who  had  caused  her  death ,  but  in  the  instant  their  eyes  meet ,   he  couldn’t  care  less about  that ,  because  she’s here ,  she’s  back ,  and  it’s  like  the  final  puzzle  piece  in  his  life .   he’s  crying  already ,  forehead  pressed  against  hers ,  holding  her  against  him  like  they  could  merge  at  the  hip  if  he  tried  hard  enough .   ‘   i  know ,  jules ,  i  know ,  i  just -  i  love  you ,  i  love  you .   ’   and  he’s  kissing  her ,  over  and  over ,  because  he  loves  her ,  and  he  never  would  have  dreamed  that  his  ending  has  been  so  peaceful .
