women are also feeling lonely and alienated from communities en masse women are also expected to stifle their mental health for the sake of perfomance at work, in relationships, for children ect women are also expected to work extremely hard to maintain a perfect body and perfect health and are punished for being fat/having hair loss/having health issues especially those that affect ones sex life women are also insecure women are also neglected by parents and teachers and authority figures women are also scrutinized for having emotions and punished for not meeting the gendered expectations of our class and expected to climb upwards and overcompensate while being punished for signs of poverty and we get the added bonus on top of, yknow, being women. your emotional issues are not a Crisis Attacking Manhood theyre the way our society is fucking built you just dont see women as people

My family and I are currently on vacation, and while riding an elevator, we ended up with another family, two babies, a little girl who couldn’t have been older than two, and a baby boy just a few months old.

As the father stepped into the elevator, he said, “Oh no, she’d be prettier without that scar on her forehead.”

At first, I noticed three things, the father had the dark eyes of a bully, both children had the biggest, brightest blue eyes I’d ever seen, and the little girl had a small scar on her forehead.

Then it hit me that he was talking about his baby girl.

He looked at his tiny daughter, drew her tiny little eyes toward him, and told her she was imperfect.

She’s too young to defend herself, too young to understand what beauty even means, yet he was belittling her in front of complete strangers.

I smiled and waved at the children and told their parents that they were perfect, that they were the cutest babies I had ever seen.

The father barked out a mocking laugh.

“Oh, they aren’t that special,” he said.

She wasn’t even old enough to understand the concept of beauty, and already her smallest imperfection was being pointed out by the person who should have loved her most. Just a baby and imperfections are already sins in the eyes of a man.

That little baby, with her big beautiful blue eyes and tiny scar on her forehead was undoubtedly perfect.

She knows she can't do everything. She isn't asking for supernatural powers. What bothers her is the imposed requirement to exclude. She doesn't want to abandon things or people. She wants to stay open to everything that might be possible for her. But no one will allow her to make such a choice.

The people around her want her to commit to one option, to one life. The structure of the world itself seems to force this choice, it seems to demand that she apply all of her efforts in a single direction. This endless narrowing down is a tragedy, she feels. She doesn't want to be boxed in. She wants just as much possibility to grow tomorrow as she has today. But she cannot see how that can happen if she is always forced to limit herself.

Ilya telling shane he has their halloween costumes picked out this year, and bc shane knows ilya loves a couples costume, he just lets it happen (as long as it’s not severely inappropriate ofc. This lesson was learned after he spent months trying to get shane to be a playboy bunny to his Hugh Hefner)

Imaging his surprise when holloween rolls around and a package is shoved into his hands by his over excitable husband, “here put this on! i’ll do your face makeup after” which is basically a threat to shane. He’s given a tight purple body suit with some harness straps, and a hood? He steps out of the bathroom and gets physiologically trapped in the world of hot man boobs. I mean shit, his husband borderline indecent with a body harness, a speedo, and high boots?? As his eyes travel up to his face he fucking sees it. a blonde blunt banged bob just obnoxious enough to piss Shane all the way off.

As Shane’s eyes begin to roll his husband starts speaking, “look shanya look! I am He-Man! Master of the Universe. You will be my Skeletor and I will defeat you with my big powerful magic sword 😏” Shane can’t help but laugh and play along with it, he lets Ilya put a little skeleton makeup on him (emphasis on his a little bc he cannot handle the texture of face paint)

“Shane SHANE, do the laugh. You must do the laugh.”

“Oh my god, ilya no.”

“Ughhhhh don’t be sooo boring Hollander, you have to be into character. If you don’t I’ll be so sad I may die of a broken heart. you don’t want me to die in wig. I’ll ask to be buried in it”

“…you are so annoying. ok, BUT only for the kids, Ilya”

This is how he ends up spending the night watching ilya hold up a foam sword and yelling “I HAVE THE POWER” every time he takes a shot, wins a party game, or attends to a trick-or-treater.

i miss feral, early seasons cass. snappy and too literal and didn't understand references. He wasn't just the winchester's pet angel, he was an ANGEL, a divine entity who would vanish in the middle of conversations and stand too close to dean and worked with Crowley because he didn't know any better. when he was unpredictable and had dubious alliances and his trenchcoat didn't fit. i miss the cass before he became sad and the cw lwk forgot about his powers. maybe i just miss cass in general but early seasons especially
