if you're writing fanfic and you stop and say 'this is too gay. they would never do this in canon'. you are right. they do infinitely gayer things in canon. you cannot possibly make them MORE gay, i promise you.

It will still be forever iconic that Castiel and Dean had barely known each other and Castiel was already like "Hey random human, can I tell you a secret? I am an angel of the Lord, but I doubt sometimes." That's such a vulnerable admission and Castiel does it so easily. He's an angel admitting that he doubts his mission. I just love how vulnerable Dean and Castiel are with each other IMMEDIATELY. Castiel saved Dean from hell, he already saw his biggest shame, and that makes Castiel comfortable sharing his biggest feelings with Dean as well.
