[You can hear some birds of some sort squawking in unison, as well as a familiar voice screaming for them to hurry up]

[Looking up, there's some sort of skytram, except it's not attached to anything and is being flown through the air...by the squawking flock of birds]

(He stares confused for a moment only to squint at the tram and finally see)

"GRUNKLE STAN!?"

[the taxi has started descending and you can see Stan leaning out the window and waving]

"HELLO DOWN THERE, KID, I'M TRYING TO GET THESE STUPID POMPADOUR BIRDS TO HURRY UP--"

[the taxi driver behind him coughs and interrupts]

"Sir, please stop insulting my birds--"

"I WASN'T TALKING TO YOU!"

"She has a point, Stan, you were being pretty rude to the birds--"

"Look, I wanted to get to my family as soon as possible, okay?! Is that too much for an old man to ask?!"

[the taxi lands, and the driver quickly hops down to open the door, looking like he wants to be rid of his passengers as soon as possible.]

"THISISYOURSTOPPLEASELEAVENOWBYE--"

[Stan hops out of the cab, and stretches]

"Ah, shut up, you're the one that agreed to take us."

*Mira just sighs.*

Anyway, nice to meet you.

[Akira hops out of the cab after Stan, giving the driver an apologetic smile, before turning to wave at Mira.]

"Nice to meet you, too. I'm Akira, and you already know this is Stan."

(For a moment Dipper just stands there, silent and still as if a million thoughts crossed over his mind, overwhelming his senses.

Tears slowly build up, blurring his vision as Dipper finally forces his legs to move.)

"Grunklestan"

(He immediately runs past Mira and Kira, pulling Stan into a tight hug)

I’ll just let them have that moment.

*She turns to Akira.*

So why were you accompanying Stan?

"Well, we met each other in Medali and hit it off pretty much immediately. He reminds me of someone I know, and I think I remind him of himself. So we decided to stick together to figure out what the hell's going on."

[Meanwhile, Stan returns the hug without hesitation]

"I missed you, kid . . . I thought I'd lost you for good."

(He doesn't break away from the hug even after the sobs die down and his breaths become less ragged.)

"I- I thought I lost you too, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to ever see you again.

Or Ford.

Or... Mabel."

(A hand comes up in an attempt to scrub away the tear stains left on his face.)

"Hey, at least we're all here now. We're family, no matter what, and that's never gonna change."

[he holds dipper by the shoulders]

"Heck, we all survived the apocalypse, that's gotta count for something, right?"

[he chuckles...a bit nervously. ford probably hasn't broken the news to the kid yet, has he? stan doesn't want to be the one to do it.]

I hate to interrupt the moment but Ford is missing and given the seeming existence of a version of Bill in his head this feels like a cause for extreme concern
