          He should have known that bit of information would be enough to make her upset. He could hear it in her tone and from the brief glance he stole, her expression made it even clearer. “No. Not exactly?” 

          Maybe he had abandoned a couple of classes but he wasn’t missing anything important as far as he was concerned. He would get back in time to finish things up and take some final exams. That, of course, entailed not spending time with her that weekend she got herself back to South Park. He realized then he had raised a hand to pat her shoulder as they walked as if to assure her things were going okay.

         “I’m not hiding anything. What could I possibly hide from you?” Stan didn’t think she thought him capable of keeping secrets, at least not from her and he typically didn’t. Sure, there were some things he didn’t want to bring up but that would only cause her concern.

         “It’s going to be fine. I’m getting through my classes…”

Stan was acting oddly. Sure, he was clingy and Kylie knew this, but the idea of him ditching any classes to drive up here, without telling anyone, had her worried that something else was happening. Something... deeper.

   “Dude, you’re acting weird... that along makes me think you’re hiding something... and I’m guessing it class related by all of this.”

   “Getting through and excelling in them aren’t the same thing, Stan. Do you need help in any of them? I’m sure someone would be willing to tutor you in any class that you need a little help in.”

          And he does recall her offer of Skype calls, but that could never replace actually hanging out with her. It’s been a few rough months. They had never been apart this long before but he’s willing to accept it as long as it keeps her from prying further on his previous comment. “I know the offer still stands. You know I’ll take it. I’ll take anything, although I think I text you enough that anyone else would be bothered by it.”

   She stared at him when he brought up ‘make up some work’. He, more than likely, meant school work... and now her annoyed expression was there, staring him down.

   “Stanley Marsh... did you jilt classes to come here?!”

   She took education very seriously, had been raised to do just that, but hearing there was a chance that Stan had to make up work during the time that she would be returning home... well, honestly, it irked her.

   “You don’t bother me. I’ve always been awake for our late night text conversations and you don’t text me during class so there’s no problem.” she frowned. “Stan... are you hiding something from me?”

          Or that. Knowing himself he would have been here sooner to try to get Kylie out but that would mean leaving his own classes behind and anything else he was doing. If it was for Kylie it was fine, he prioritized their friendship above most else and he’s sure that Kylie did not approve. Although now she seems to be in a better mood about him driving all the way here. 

          He looked down at their hands and found himself smiling. “Okay, truthfully I just wanted to hang out too. We don’t get too many chances to do this. It’s also why I figured to drive all the way out here. Even when you come back to town, I’m not sure if you’ll have time for me then.” Just as he might be busy too.

   Stan was a clingy person, she knew that about him. He always had been and he showed it when she showed Cartman attention back when they were kids. Kyle loved Stan, it should be obvious to anyone that watched them, but she worried when he did such brash things like just driving up here.
