More info: Kriss Donald was a 15-year-old Scottish teenager who was abducted and murdered in Glasgow in 2004 in a racially motivated revenge attack. He was targeted at random by five men of Pakistani origin linked to gang leader Imran Shahid, who were seeking retaliation for an assault on Shahid by a white gang the night before. Kriss, who had no gang involvement, was forced into a car, driven around for hours, then brutally attacked on the Clyde Walkway—stabbed 13 times, doused in petrol, and set on fire while still alive. Four of the attackers fled to Pakistan but were later extradited after major diplomatic efforts. Ultimately, five men were convicted, with the main perpetrators receiving life sentences for racially aggravated abduction and murder. Ariel’s family described her as caring, ambitious, and preparing to move to Florida after graduation, and a GoFundMe was created to assist with funeral expenses.
