That bored expression on Jean’s face only succeeded in making Eren all the more angry. Was he listening at all? Jean’s answer confirmed that he had only half listened to him.
"I wasn’t just telling you that it wasn’t cleaned correctly, I was telling you to go finish cleaning it!" Eren snapped. "Why don’t you start pulling your own weight around here and actually do stuff the way you’re supposed to?" he hissed, grabbing the rag and dangling it in front of his face. "I won’t tell Captain Levi if you go and finish cleaning it, otherwise I’ll have no choice but to tell on you." and yet, Eren didn’t really know when he had become such a snitch. But he had..
It was now painfully obvious that he wasn't getting out of this with some half-assed excuse. But like hell he was going to be bossed around by Eren of all people.
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were back in kindergarden. I thought you were better at making threats then 'telling on me'", he mocked, now standing in front of the other boy. "I guess it's my fault for giving you more credit then you deserve". Changing the subject should work pretty well. Maybe he would get so pissed off, he would storm out of the room completely forgetting his original purpose, and making Jean that much more clever. Yeah, this is totally going to work.

Valerie felt… Numb. Mostly numb. It just dawned upon her… She had just killed another human being, on purpose. Cornered him like a scared animal, scared him out of his mind, smashed his skull against the wall and killed him. And, the worst part was, that she had kind of liked it. It was like a drug rush, and she was high on adrenaline and blood thirst. However, even in this condition, a part of her wondered; Am I a bad person now? Am I a murderer? Is this how someone becomes the bad guy?
No.
Valerie refused to believe that. She couldn’t be the bad guy. Because she hadn’t killed another human being, merely put down a dangerous animal. It was neccessary. He would never hurt anyone again, and that was a good thing.
Slowly, the girl turned against Jean and started walking. Her footprints were red, but her hands were clean despite the blood that had splattered across her lower body. The normally so red-faced girl was as pale as a ghost, and her expression was only a mere shadow of it’s former liveliness. She seemed… Older. “Jean…” Valerie avoided looking him in the eye, knowing how much he was against killing. Did he hate her now…? She hoped not. He was her best friend, and the only person she had left. Losing him was the last thing she wanted. “I… I’m sorry. I didn’t want you to see that,” she mumbled.
How the fuck was he suppose to respond to that? What could he say about the situation? It was becoming unbearably difficult to say anything at all, let alone question his friend. Instead, he kept his gaze glued towards her. If he couldn't talk with words, he would talk with his eyes. Though that was revealing to be a problem, seeing as she was avoiding eye contact at all costs. Shit. Well, back to plan A then.
"...Why'd you do it?", was all he was able to muster. Of course he knew why, but he still hoped that it was an accident, that none of this was ever meant to happen.
A small stream of the freshly spilt blood was now making its way down the street, passing to two by, reminding them that Valerie's slip up did in fact happen, and wasn't just some vague memory they weren't sure it actually happened. "Im going to have to report in about this, you know", he spoke loud enough only to reach Valerie's ears. Odds were, this wasn't going to go unnoticed, a missing villain and a blood laced alleyway. And the first people to be questioned about it would be them two. And as much as it pains him, he wouldn't lie to anyone about something like this, even if he was ratting out his partner and best friend.

Storming into the room, hands balled up slightly, Eren grumbled a few..ungrateful words under his breath before scanning the room. Eyes coming to rest on the person at fault for his anger.
”Kirschtein! You idiot!” barely able to keep his tone under screaming. Storming over to the taller boy sitting on the couch, Eren drew back his arm and tossed the rag at the other. “You didn’t even clean the other room half way decent! You left dirt in every corner and under the desk and the windows are disgusting. What’s wrong with you!?” the Titan shifter fumed. “You could’ve at least dusted the shelves you know!” to say the least, Eren had become a clean freak ever since joining squad Levi. Now, half way done jobs, set him off.
Jean flicked his eyes up to the raging idiot in front of him. Eren was annoying enough before, but now that he was converted into becoming a clean freak, it was too much to handle. Nothing could satisfy him either. And today was no exception. He sat with a bored expression as he listened to Eren list off all of the things he had done wrong, again.
"You never like anything that I clean. Besides, you can barely notice any of the dirt I missed", he rolled his eyes at the boy. In his opinion, that room looked pretty clean. Sure, there were some missed spots, but it was nothing major that would be noticed by anyone else. Except Eren.

It’s hard to look at him.
It’s hard to peer into the eyes of a boy you’ll be trying to kill in only a few days. But he doesn’t know this.
He only knows the other truth. Most of the truth actually.
She wonders why he doesn’t ask her intent. She wonders why he doesn’t beat the life out of her- strike her down with his blade- kill her before she can kill again.
Instead he watched her break before him, and offer words of consolation. She backs away from him, sobbing, choking, but she does not shed tears. She isn’t sad, no, only sorry.
Sorry for what?
Sorry for the lives she stole?
Or sorry that he figured her out?
What have I done.
This thought only drives the stake of guilt deeper into her chest.
“Yes I am.” she deadpans, voice thick with emotion. Her hands find her face, then run to her chest/ Fists clench at her breast, feet stumble backwards.
Don’t touch me. Don’t touch me, please, I’ll hurt you.
“You don’t know me, Jean,” she breathes. Her body comes to a stop.
And you don’t want to.
He didn't want to believe it. That everything she had done, the lives she had taken, was all just an illusion. But of course, he never got what he wanted. Even still, he knew that she was still the same girl he had trained with for three years. Although they were never exceptionally close, he considered her a friend. And like hell he would go and turn his back on a friend.
She always seemed so strong, physically and emotionally, so watching as she broke down right in front on him was quite a surprise.
How was he suppose to respond to this? Part of him wanted to soothe the girl, reassure her that she was nothing of the sort, while another part wanted to agree. Why should he show any sympathy towards the person that killed his best friend and countless others? Why shouldn't he stop her now while she's off guard?
He could never do that, though. He wouldn't take advantage of anyone during their moment of weakness, especially his friend. Instead, he placed both his hands onto her shoulders, a silent attempt to quiet the girl.
"You're right, I don't. But I do know the Annie from our trainee years, and I want to help her."
It was obvious that there wasn't much he could do to help. The damage has already been done, and everyone else wasn't so willing to accept an apology.
