Swampy blues band North Mississippi Allstars performing the blues classic Rollin ‘n Tumblin, a song that has been around for over 70 years on WFUV. Amazing performance featuring both a diddley bow and a washboard!

I heard Aimee Mann’s music many times on the radio, but it never quite clicked for me. My interest was piqued when I heard pieces of her album with Ted Leo as the band The Both, but what really got me to listen to more of her music was seeing her in Portlandia in a really funny running sketch that people should definetly check out. Now I have a number of her songs stuck in my head, and I’ve found myself humming or singing the song randomly throughout the day. This is one of those songs, enjoy!

Talk about an indie band who are absolutely amazing live. I saw them last summer at WTMD’s First Thursday Concert in Baltimore and they blew away the crowd. Just unbelievable.

This is off their most recent album “Most Messed Up”. I saw the Old 97′s in concert a couple of months ago in DC, phenomenal show, if you ever get a chance.
