I hate my bird IHATE HER I HATE HER SHE MAKES ME VIOLENTLY UPSET okay I'm fine I don't even care. She kind of sucks. And that's okay because I love her.
I've been reading way too much into everything about the Knight and one thing that immediately caught my attention was the way it poses. I think everybody agrees that its weapon is either Dess' bat or Carol's katana but both of those are supposed to be used with both hands so the poses don't match the way either of them are used. People are joking about auramaxxing but genuinely, it seems almost like it's a dance. And then it hit me. We know that Dess plays like. every sport. She's particularly associated with baseball and hockey (thanks Kris for beating me up with a hockey stick) and we know for a fact she has at least two pairs of ice skates - one in her closet and one under her bed.
So what if the skates aren't just for hockey. What if she also does figure skating? Look at the Knight's poses next to figure skaters.
And obviously ice skating is a winter sport so it really matches the Holiday theme.
If you could give each character of the main cast a song, what would it be?
And if any of the side cast have any songs, wouldnt mind those too 👀

i’d like to point out this dialogue tree that appears with ralsei after out first few encounters with flowery because i think it does a good job of showcasing ralsei’s personal philosophy and how we see it clash against his new experiences in this chapter: even though he has never encountered somebody who has bothered him so much before now, he still believes that there’s no justifiable reason to hate a person or treat them badly.
ralsei apologizes for how he acts in flowery’s presence and attempts to reason with himself that it’s still possible to become friends with flowery despite how he feels. of course part of this is not wanting to be in conflict with kris’s feelings (people pleasing behavior strikes again), but even when you validate ralsei’s feelings by replying, “he sucks,”
he quickly reins in his feelings of vindication because pacifism and treating people fairly is still more important to ralsei. more than what he’s feeling in the moment, and even more than his desire for approval from those he loves, this has been his philosophy since the beginning:
in other words, the philosophy that led him to opposing the prophecy in his own way, despite thinking, deep down, that defying fate is pointless. his decision to walk the path of pacifism was not made lightly, and it wasn’t one that he made to appease others either: THIS is ralsei’s conviction above all else; his will. in fact, if you DO choose to fight against flowery at the end of this chapter, ralsei(and susie but for the purpose of this post, the focus will remain on ralsei) will cancel out your attacks by healing flowery automatically.
after this happens, ralsei and susie will flat-out refuse to fight. in ralsei’s case this proves that, despite his tumultuous feelings, ralsei is dedicated to his ideal of kindness. in fact, i would argue that his encounters with people who are actively antagonizing him in this chapter do a great job of putting his ideals to the test. up until recently ralseo has lived in complete isolation, which meant that he could come to conclusions based on the information he was given, but not put it into practice. and it’s easy to believe things when when you exist in an environment that offers no pushback.
in the story of deltarune, we see ralsei adjusting to reality in real time. we watch him discover that things are never as simple as they appear on paper, and that what is “kind” is often a lot more complicated than purely good intentions, or good will. maybe, sometimes, you do not have the good will to spare. in chapters 4 and 5, we see ralsei encounter these situations that test his ideals and every time, he proves his kindness to be the real deal: the kind that persists unconditionally.
you know what? unfortunately I didn't grow out of thinking that the trope "friendship against all odds is the thing that saves the world" is the greatest thing ever invented. and you know what else? i'm right. it IS the greatest thing ever invented
one of the best parts of making up increasingly wild and specific aus with a friend is sending them posts like "this is sooo blorbo in torture chamber au number 15" and they reply back like "YESSS btw have i told you about my latest idea for how to torture them even more" and you get to enjoy a little snack and kick your feet with glee
shoutout to the Manly Mandanna actually belonging (in Deltarune, at least) to a little girl that just wanted to be seen as tough and brave and probably drew the abs on it herself
