“Eᴠᴇɴ ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ were, I wouldn’t tell you about it. I don’t tell nosy little girls anything about me.” Eclipse tried to act tough, act like she could be mean, but Brooklyn had spent too long being angry, nothing phased him and it was rare that he found anyone who could go toe to toe with him. Eyes rolled when she pet the cat- Brooklyn had no problems with cats, if anything he could relate to them- but she didn’t need to know that.
“I ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴍʏ bookstore. I don’t like you. So uh, no thanks…” He says, turning on his heel to stomp back into the bookstore where the lights burned brightly and the books were safe.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Eclipse had enough of tolerance towards people she met, however, she also had her limits. She could sense if one tried to hurt her, especially with their words and did not hesitate to breathe the fire back to them even if it was not necessary at all. an eye for an eye, after all.
"Good thing that I had never really been nosy,” she mused, “and I’m pretty sure, I’m not as little as you’re.”
Her gaze ran over his figure before she allowed a small smirk to reach her lips. “Go back to your books then, little boy. You’ll be safe there for sure.”
She then gave him a shrug and turn to leave. It was probably a bad idea to listen to her fellow busker, who mentioned a boy that worked in the bookstore and seemed to be educated enough about games. She was there to invite the other to some kind of game tournament, an adventure Eclipse would dare to call it, but why would she bother to explain it if the other was not interested in listening to her at all?
Bʀᴏᴏᴋʟʏɴ ʙʀɪsᴛʟᴇᴅ, sʜᴏᴜʟᴅᴇʀs squaring as his eyes narrowed. “Could have fooled me, you seem like a nosy little bitch to me.” He spits out, jaws clenching inside the sleeves of his other sized sweater. If there was one thing Brooklyn hated over everything- it was being called little. Between his family and his entire school career, he’d been bullied for his short stature, and it’d left him scarred. The moment the word short or little passed through someones lips in his direction and he was swinging.
Tʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀᴅs "Lɪᴛᴛʟᴇ boy” left her and he saw red, jaw clenching. “Dont call me little. Or you’re going to regret ever having met me.” The only reason he gave any warning about his hair trigger temper was she was a girl- it wouldn’t stop him from swinging but he’d give her some smidgeon of a chance to apologize and keep from missing teeth. Was he small? Yes. But he worked out daily and had the muscles to show for it despite him size.
