Remember kids: if you take advantage of someone’s deepest childhood trauma, they have every reason to hate you forever
Does the hulk have a last name??? Is it banner?? Or is his last name hulk??? Does that mean his first name is the?????
Everyone say happy birthday to Bruce !
Wake up gamers ! Time to appreciate the hulk !
Mark Ruffalo on a skateboard
Thor: Ragnarok (2017) dir. Taika Waititi
Would you look at the time! It’s Bruce loving hours again!
Me: I-
Everyone: we get it, you love bruce banner. You can’t stop thinking about him all the time, and you think he deserves the world- we get it!
Today we’re playing a fun game called: am I going to be able to think of something other than Bruce?
I just... I just want to hold hulk’s hand. Is that too much to ask?
bruce banner too gay for television
#Just a couple of 5 year olds.
okay, but actually how sweet is it that Thor completely changes his communication style when he’s talking to Bruce vs. when he’s talking to Hulk? With Bruce he’s all “we should discuss your PhDs and how to use our brains and have occasional check-ins about your emotional state and we will have quiet murmuring conversations in cozy corners where you can feel safe”, and then with Hulk he modifies his syntax so that they both match and he breaks a bunch of stuff so that Hulk can express himself without feeling sad later about being dumb or scary
idk I just love him so much and feel terribly suspicious of people who don’t
There is not a single day that goes by where I don’t miss Thor Ragnarok. Literally the last time I was at peace in the MCU 💀
Bruce Banner is underrated and y'all better appreciate him.
I am not my father. You’re not getting in my head, okay? You think you’re luring me into a trap, you’re not.
there’s a deleted scene in Thor Ragnarok that would seem to run directly counter to the usual depictions of Bruce’s relationship with his father; he mentions that he wasn’t there when his dad died, because he was busy with his experiments, so i got to thinking: if we presume this is canon to the MCU, how do we reconcile this with Brian Banner being an abusive monster whose cruelty created the Hulk, and whom Bruce murdered in a fit of self-defensive rage with his mother’s gravestone?
the first point to be made is that Bruce is notably vague when he discusses this; he doesn’t sound broken up or sad. he DOES sound annoyed, and since he doesn’t go into detail about the circumstances, it’s possible that what he actually means is ‘god i wish i could have watched the old miserable bastard die and I had to miss out on it’. Bruce being deliberately evasive is a key part of his character.
Another key point is, you know what Bruce has a history of doing before going through therapy to acknowledge his trauma? Flat out fabricating memories or misremembering things so he can feel less guilty, or make himself feel like less of a monster. In the original accounts of Brian Banner’s death, it was stated that he ran off into the night and was killed by muggers, and it was later revealed that Bruce falsified this memory because of the trauma of killing his father in self defense.
so its perfectly in character for him to do all that.
it’s also appropriate that when Thor talks about how his family feels weirdly cursed to fight each other, and the world suffers for it? That is literally also what happens in the Hulk family, with father/son conflicts spiraling out and making monsters that threaten the world.
