today i had to make one of those decisions as an educator that really feels not great, and im trying not to feel bad bc 1. ultimately it is the students’ fault, they made their decisions even when they knew the consequences, and 2. i have no control over what the district/admin will do for consequences… plus i guess i wont really know what’s gonna happen until monday. but damn.

I have so much love for this person. The amount of empathy it takes to have these considerations about a person you will never meet, the eloquence and conviction with which they speak, the contempt for landlords. Sometimes I see something someone writes or creates and I wish with everything in me that I could meet and talk to that person for hours about what caused them to be this kind of light in the universe. This is one of those times.

i had a desk stored in the basement and it recently went missing and when i asked my landlord he said “i know nothing about that” and when i asked him to talk to the other tenants (there’s literally only 2 other units) he told me to talk to them myself. one of the tenants texted me saying the landlord told them they could take it. i told him hey wtf why did you give my desk away and lie about it when i asked (in a nice “you control my living situation” way of course) he threatened to throw out everything stored in the basement, charge all the tenants for the removal, and install a camera in the basement even though the lease says we can store stuff down there 🙃
