Celebrating Summer and the impending release of the next ACOTAR book with Azris art: Campy, Sexy, Fun, and HOT!

Melting Point - by @hornysadfrog

The amazing @hornysadfrog gifted us this stunning art piece in honor of Hot Azris Summer! Azriel's blissful, oblivious joy in his frozen (yet quickly melting) treat, and Eris is... noticing!

The details on this piece have me swooning, and not just with the heat! Azriel's relaxed posture, eyelashes for days, sweat-laden hair, the cobalt belly button piercing, and that messy, delicious ice cream cone... I could stare for hours (what time is it?). Eris has an eyeful of the view! The shaking glass, the sweat-beaded brow, LOCKED eyes, beautiful blush, and distracted lips... all say the eldest Vanserra can't bring himself to look away! Can I say how much I love Eris in purple? (note: add more purple to Eris's wardrobe in our fics!)

The whole piece just screams hot summer beach dreams, and the colors pop with a slight homage to the 1980s. I feel like there is a volleyball game soon in the future...

As we approach the release of the next ACOTAR book this fall, I am celebrating summer with Azris art: Campy, Sexy, Fun, and HOT!

Summer Heat

The awesome and talented @fourteentrout embraced the vision of our Hot Azris Summer with this commissioned piece of Summer Heat!

Eris shows Azriel the error of his ways in wearing flight leathers in the Southern Courts on a hot summer's day. Eris looks so breezy and elegant in this gorgeous work, just sauntering by cool as a cucumber.

@fourteentrout's sheer attention to details (pun intended) blow me away! From the sheer shirt and panels in his pants (thighs and arms on display!), to the loose collar showing off a fencer's chest, to the absolutely practical bun containing Eris's hair (good for swordplay *and* heat!), Eris planned for both fashion and function. The freckles! Eris's jewelry is on point, from the gorgeous earrings to the cobalt pendant, perfectly framed on his chest. Azriel's leathers look hot; both showing off that physique and trapping heat. His windswept hair is perfection, as well as his stunned appreciation (and sweat, both from the heat, and from the view!).

Thank you so much, @fourteentrout for having fun with me on the vision of this series! This piece is perfection in every way! Love the visual treat of Azris in Heat!

We need to put out periodic reminders in fandom that trying to argue in favor of the divine right of kings or defending wartime atrocities or rich people's entitlement to the deference of indentured servants or whatever is, in fact, way less compelling and far stupider than just going well, that character is hot and this is fiction so I've decided it's all good.

Wanting to fuck the evil demon king because he's gorgeous and tormented is far more respectable than trying to defend his actual policies. If someone accuses you of only liking him because you want to fuck him, you can just say yeah that's true, and then what? Either they kinkshame you or they leave. Checkmate.

The amazing and talented @nus4yy has created a vision with Azriel about to enter the Summer Court's ceremonial pool in An InterCourt (D)Alliance in this beautiful commissioned piece!

From the Summer Loving Chapter:

Azriel stretched his wings and neck, allowing the tight knots in his spine to pop. He willfully tried not to think about his suit. He failed. The black, tight swim trunks were scandalously short, barely skimming the tops of his thighs just below the crease where his torso met his legs, and even shorter in the back. [...]. Feyre had insisted that the suit showed off his best assets, and he would be the pride of the Night Court.

The details on this piece are stunning. Everything from the sunny day and lens flare setting the tone of the Summer Court heat, to the crisp, cool rendering of the waters of the ceremonial pool make this piece *feel* like Summer. I love how @nus4yy portrays Azriel's expression of resignation and discomfort after leaving a conversation with Eris, the perfection of the barely-there bathing suit, and the display of Azriel's impressive wingspan. A deeper look shows sassy ear piercings and shadows peeking around his frame, keeping close in the Summer Court sun. This piece brings me joy as our summers heat up!

Summary

The bond snaps into place at the Winter Solstice ball, threatening centuries of Eris’s plans and crushing Azriel’s lonely dreams. The bond is unsettling and intimate: glimpses of thoughts and feelings flowing muffled across the connection, prying at their carefully crafted masks.

The bond takes no heed that Koschei’s invasion of Prythian looms, testing the foundations of the Autumn Court. That it reveals their raw desires amidst the chaotic politics, alliances, heartbreak, and bloodshed.

The bond tugs at them, divulging sober truths: that, in the quiet stolen moments of night, they find their company soothes old scars, that, as the dust of battle settles, they discover themselves yearning for one another.

“What about you, Azriel? You've mentioned your burns. Have any other heartwarming childhood stories to share?” Eris sighed.

A wave of apprehension came over Azriel. Eris was asking about the dark place. Avoiding Eris's gaze, he was suddenly aware of the alcohol's impact on him—his mind too slow, too scattered to weigh sharing those memories. His imprisonment. When the shadows came to him. The endless time where day and night ceased to have meaning. Words turned to lead in his mouth.

Eris huffed a small, sardonic chuckle. “No wonder the Cauldron decided in its infinite wisdom to pair us up.” He lifted his glass to Azriel. “Cheers to unhappy childhoods. May those responsible rot in the Cauldron.”

Chapter 10 of Project Codename: Metamorphosis, "Of Beasts and Ruts," has been posted on AO3.

Azriel discovers what is happening to Eris. A visit to Winter provides some interesting results about the High Lord. Azriel finally succumbs to his rut.

Project Codename: Metamorphosis is a canon-divergent AU, with A/B/O dynamics, set at the end of the first book in the ACOTAR series. Features a slow-burn romance with Azriel and Eris Vanserra (Azris), with eventual explicit sexual content. Tags will be updated each chapter.
