A Song by BSB Became the Soundtrack to a McDonald’s Commercial
Several days ago a series of McDonald’s TV advertisements featuring "You’ve Got to Move" by Brunettes Shoot Blondes began to be broadcast across TV screens throughout Ukraine. The videos are dedicated to a recipe contest for the brand’s iconic dish - the burger.
The song "You’ve Got to Move” came out in 2010, becoming the band’s first release. BSB re-recorded the song in a new arrangement specially for the ad shoot, with the band’s keyboard man Evgeniy Kobzaruk becoming the sound-producer of the latest version.
"Of course, we are very flattered to cooperate with a great brand such as McDonald’s. It’s interesting that the song won out 7 years after being written. For us this is a good sign – our melodies remain relevant after years. We plan to reissue YGTM as a part of the EP, which will be released this year,” – the frontman for the band Andrew Kovalov comments.
The commercials are dedicated to the "My Burger" competition. The 2 burgers that come out on top at the end of the contest will appear on the McDonald’s menu in all of their restaurants in Ukraine. More details about the campaign may be found on the website: http://myburger.mcdonalds.ua/home. The commercial was created by TBWA Ukraine and the shooting was done by "Family Production”.
BSB has already collaborated with major Ukrainian and international brands like the beauty care chain store Watsons with the song "You Brroke My Heart", delivery service Nova Poshta with "Nothing at All” and "Tomorrow" as well as with mobile operator Lifecell with the song "I Don’t Know". The band’s music video "Bittersweet" became a part of an advertising campaign for the German car giant Opel.
