tumblr just added an update that requires you to verify your age in order to view "mature content". I'm not sure how they do the verification (haven't yet checked), but given recent similar updates from things like Discord, it most likely involves sending them a photo of either your face or your ID.
In addition, over the past few months, and also years in the long-term, tumblr has been incorrectly marking things as mature content. These include:
Notifications about missing persons and requests for help
Posts about youth liberation
Posts about sex education
Posts about how the mature content is poorly implemented
Posts about being trans, more specifically about trans women and transmisogyny by both tumblr and users on tumblr
Non-sexual selfies by trans women/transfems
Trans womens'/transefems' ENTIRE BLOGS even if the blog contains no sexual content
Reblogs made by various blogs, mostly trans women, which add no additional content but somehow are marked as containing mature content, when the original post is not
Posts talking about racism and antiblackness both on and off tumblr
Posts by black people, especially black trans people, that are non-sexual
And likely many more I haven't seen
In essence, this update has mandated that a majority of users must either a) submit their personal information to tumblr, a website whose moderation has been EXTREMELY biased against marginalised people and who I would not trust with my ID, or b) be excluded from absolutely all conversations tumblr decides are "mature content", whether they are actually sexual in nature or not. Furthermore, anyone not over 18 will also not be allowed to take part in these conversations, or even see them, or interact with many trans women or people of colour on this site, as tumblr decides.
This update is complete bullshit designed to censor and exclude marginalised people, poorly hidden under a guise of "protecting teenagers from sexual content", and they know it.
They’re literally just people same as anyone else, but with different struggles
Homelessness and to a certain degree addiction aren’t choices an individual gets to make for themselves, but rather choices their government makes for them
While addiction is a bit more personal, those habits can be shaped by the environment a person finds themselves in
Support homeless people and support people fighting addiction, they’re some of the more vulnerable groups out there

shout out to every undiagnosed emotionally stunted girl who feels like the world hates her. theres this wonder drug called testosterone and whilst it might not help you get social skills,
When people talk about mental health issues that cause low mood, hopelessness, apathy, etc, they always say things like "Don't worry, you won't feel like this forever! With the right treatment all your positive emotions will come back and you will feel so satisfied and happy!"
And it makes sense, because they're approaching it from the understanding of depression. But as someone with schizoid personality disorder, I kind of hate how this kind of attitude is seen as the "correct" way of addressing MH issues, and if you disagree you're just "anti-recovery" or "pessimistic". You're treated as if you just haven't seen the light yet.
But the thing is, there is no real treatment for SzPD. No medications are known to be effective, and there aren't any cohesively developed therapies for it either. If you look hard enough into clinical databases, you can find outlines for potential future therapies that could be developed with further research, but nothing concrete.
Therapists don't know how to treat us because cluster A personality disorders don't receive a lot of coverage in psych courses, and of course there's the aforementioned lack of developed treatments. If you have a good therapist, they can try tweaking schizophrenia or ASPD therapies for you, but again, none of this is designed for us and it's really just trial and error.
SzPD is also just...not depression. There's no chemical imbalance in my brain that can be corrected with an SSRI, this is the way my literal personality has developed. I didn't lose interest in things I used to care about, I've never cared about anything. I didn't stop feeling connection to people, I never felt it in the first place. I don't feel like a burden or like I'm worthless, I have no concept of what my "self" is even supposed to be. And so on.
I can't even feel upset that I'm supposedly going to be like this forever. It's not like I'm crying myself to sleep every night over this. I just don't feel satisfaction from anything, never have and probably never will. I literally don't have the emotional range to have an existential crisis over this, even though it sounds like the plot of a psychological horror story.
You try to explain this to non-schizoids and they go "Oh, you're just depressed :) have you tried meds?" but no, it's a completely different issue on every single level. An issue that has no known treatments that most MH professionals barely know exists.
It's funny that some psychiatrists will say that the SzPD diagnosis should be removed because "they never seek treatment anyway". What treatment? Meds I don't need and therapies that are designed for completely different disorders? Your little issue of "low clinical utility" seems to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

⚠️ CALL FOR INFORMATION ON A LOST PIECE OF OBJECTUM MEDIA ⚠️
Earlier this week I attempted to purchase a book called Mechaphilia: The Sexual Attraction to Machines, a book published in 2003 that is of particular interest to me because of when, where, and by who it was written by — an anonymous mechaphile. The book was never shipped out and I cannot find another copy or much information about it anywhere.
If you have any information about this book, please contact me here or at [email protected]

Hello there! My name is Casper Cielo. I am a full-time artist that often explores the topic of objectumsexuality. I am an amateur archivist and passionate community volunteer, with an interest in preserving objectum community history.
While looking for objectum literature on Amazon, I stumbled upon Mechaphilia: Sexual Attraction to Machines. After confirming the book was an early 2000s account from an anonymous mechaphile, I decided to purchase it for the purposes of archiving & personal research.
There was one single copy in stock through a private seller on the listing, with a mirror on AbeBooks by the same seller.
My order was cancelled two days after my initial purchase for what I can only assume was a lack of inventory.
Following this, I began a search to uncover another copy ...
The bulk of the information I have found out about this book is from two exhausted leads. A Wordpress blog from a psychologist who cited the book in his research had the following to say:
In 2003, a man simply calling himself ‘Schlessinger’ published a book called Mechaphilia: Sexual Attraction to Machines. The (non-academic) book charts Schlessinger’s “personal journey” of coming to terms with his sexual desire for machines and his quest to seek acceptance from his family and friends about his sexual love of machines. The book is detailed in his description such as his detailing of the curves of a reel-to-reel recorder that he fell in love with. Schlessinger ends the book by saying that he has happily come to accept his ‘quirky sexuality’.
I was able to establish contact and confirm he never personally owned the book.
I also got in contact with who I believe to be the publisher through a Facebook page that had been inactive since 2017. They left my message on read, so I can assume that they either do not have or have no desire to distribute the book.
The publisher in question looked to be a smaller independent venture with a presence both in Baltimore and, most interestingly, Berlin. All of this aligns with modern objectumsexuality’s European roots, Schlessinger’s name, and the book being spiral-bound, a comparatively cheaper binding method. I suspect the book was printed in small quantities and distributed primarily in Europe, though the seller I initially found for this book was in Portland, Oregon.
Because of its date of publishing, this book is one of the very few surviving raw accounts of an objectumsexual’s lived experiences circa the early 2000s. Many objectum spaces were lost following the dissolution of Yahoo Groups, and distrust of outsiders means we rarely see OS perspectives meant for a general audience. Most books on the subject skew academic, not anecdotal. This book also covers a European’s experience in my native language, making broadening my research less difficult.
Schlessinger also identified as a mechaphile, not an objectumsexual — these two terms have distinct, separate communities even today, and I would love to see what early mechaphile spaces looked like.
The publisher’s location is also of particular note to me, and I would be curious to see if Schlessinger was associated with OSI and/or Eija-Riitta due to his potential proximity to Berlin.
So how can you help?
As of now, all possible leads have been exhausted. If you do a Google search for this book, you will find my aforementioned leads. Please do not message them! They have done everything they can to help me.
As of now, I think the only way to find this book is to either pray someone has a PDF, or to find it in the real world. It is possible this book can pop up on secondhand sites, stores, or sales, especially around its area of distribution.
If you know of anyone who has this copy and would be willing to part with it, I am interested in offering money or art in exchange for it. Barring that, I am willing to also pay for shipping & hassle both ways to scan the book in and return it to its owner.
Those in explicitly European mechaphile / objectum spaces may have a better chance at finding this book or someone who knows more about it.
I have not reached out to lost media spaces or book sellers.
Please do not contact others on my behalf to avoid disturbing exhausted leads. Forward all leads to [email protected].
🚨 I have reached out to an independent publishing resource group in Portland to follow up on a potential lead that Please Press was actually a different publisher due to the timestamps on their Facebook page not aligning with this book's publication! I will let you guys know what I hear back.
🚨 I have reached out to the webmaster of the oldest OS/mech website I have access to that is also European. His site was last updated in 2023 so I'm hopeful, but we'll see!
