3t2: DIY Elevator Kit
Published: 8-15-2024 | Updated: 8-16-2024 SUMMARY “The Teleportation Pad reduces your transportation costs by 100%... within a reasonable margin of error” “Elevators are terribly crude if you think about it. Moving a whole room from one floor to another? Barbaric! It's much more efficient to move single Sims with anti-gravity tech.” This DIY elevator set is a combination of the Teleportation Pad from Sims 3 (EA/Maxis, 2009) and the Tube Elevator from Sims 3: Into the Future (EA/Maxis, 2013). Use them to create your own retro-futuristic elevator. The DIY elevator is much faster than the default elevator, making it especially convenient on busy lots or very tall buildings. There are multiple recolors for the teleportation pad. There are TWO versions of the elevator repo’d to the Plain (V1) and Graphic Glass (V2) TXTR Repository meshes respectively. Get them from my Repo Pack (Simmons, 2022) for the glass recolors to show properly. You can have both in-game at the same time.
DETAILS Requires all EPs/SPs. §200 | Build > Stairs/Columns
Turn on “moveobjects on/off” and place one teleportation pad to create a travel point between two floors. You do NOT need to place a pad on the top-most floor. Like the “Ascensions Elevator Stairs (Targa, 2005), sims can enter/exit the teleportation pad from all four sides, and will be instantly transported without breaking stride. Fence off/block the sides you don’t want to be accessible but leave at least one side open. The glass tube elevators function like columns. Reworked TV Seating Mod

MogHughson's Watch TV from all chairs is pretty much required by everyone at this point, but I always disliked how, if there's no seating available, my sims seemed to always route to stand in front of the tv and block people. There's also Squinge's Sit on floor to watch TV, but it conflicted with MogHughson's mod, and it also makes people sit on the floor on community lots, which didn't make much sense to me. This edit fixes all of that.
I made a quick mod that affects pet-to-furniture interaction. Basically, it just makes it so that no matter how long they chew or scratch for, furniture will never be destroyed. This was because I was annoyed of training all pets to be perfect and well behaved. Let bad pets be bad! I like to have some sims be lazy owners or I headcannon them as too nice to scold and discipline, but also I was tired of constantly replacing furniture. This is different from MidgeTheTree's mod as that disables scratching/chewing of furniture entirely. This mod still allows the bad behavior to exist, just without the pile of rubble and trash. Enjoy~

“Just Be Friends” Social
As requested, a non-autonomous social available to teens-up towards sims if at least one of them has crush and/or love flags for the other but they aren’t going steady/married/engaged. They’ll perform the generic ask animations (also seen when sims ask each other if they want to play catch, for example) and then all crush/love flags between them get cleared.
UPDATE 12/13/18: Updated so it should no longer throw an error when selecting customers on a business lot.
UPDATE 12/18/18: Updated to fix an issue it sometimes caused with sims’ autonomy.
UPDATE 9/26/29: Now won’t be mistakenly identified as a fight social for purposes of “Influence…/Fight”.
UPDATE 4/21/20: Now with accompanying fall-out-of-crush/love FX, although this can be turned off by changing the value in the new BCON.
UPDATE 10/17/21: Now fulfills fall out of love fear for any sim who loses love from this social. Also ensures sims who lose love get the fall out of love memory even if FX are disabled.
UPDATE 10/17/21 B: Whoops, there is no fall out of love memory in the vanilla game, I was accidentally trying to readd the fall in love memory… but there is a custom fall out of love memory, so now if you have that installed this mod will add it as appropriate.

No Goofy Dance Reactions Mod
Something I couldn't find but always wanted. This mod prevents sims from reacting to other sims goofy dancing. Made this because I hold formal dances for my teens and they kept reacting instead of doing literally anything else.

Stop the mooching - Split restaurant bill
We've all been there. Our sim is out having a lovely time with some friends, perhaps family, or a whole frat worth of loose acquaintances. They are hungry, they want to eat.
And somehow by the end your Sim has to foot the bill for the whole affair. Hardly seems fair, does it? I mean how often do you go around paying for everyone when you eat out? Nah. I am tired of my poor newcomers in town trying to make friends only to end up with a 8 people restaurant bill to cover on their meager salary. Clearly it is not my fault for making food more expensive resulting in 800+ bills (😇) but the lack of manners in sim-restaurants not providing a means to split the cost 😤 No more!
With this mod, the restaurant podium (*) will now give you the option of splitting the bill. Can be used on dates as well as outings, though it only shows up if there are non-household members taking part in the meal. If there are any such, the podium will give you the option to only pay a fair share of the total bill, corresponding to the % your sims make up out of the total. In the example above, only one sim out of 4 was part of the household, so the sim is given the option to pay 25% of the bill. If two sims had been household members, it would have been 50%, and so on. (**)
(*) Will not apply to custom podiums without a tweak, more info under the cut. (**) Only active household pays, the remainder of the bill is negated entirely. If you play a strictly regulated economy, your restaurant will earn less when you use this option. To track exactly what you ate, or force payment from multiple source is both overly complicated and more conflict-prone, and I do not personally think it is worth the effort here. If you run OFB restaurants, just don't use the option in those.

Conflicts: None that I know of. Does not conflict with Lamare's reservable tables 😊 Edits TTABs of the maxis podiums, action strings and pay bill action/guardian interactions in the semi-global, and adds one custom bhav to the semi-global.

I can't express how excited I am to bring brand-new animations to these iconic objects and finally see them in action inside the game. I wanted to share a sneak peek of the WIP process with you! I may have shamelessly stolen this idea from TS2 Extender, but I made this for myself to help my sanity while debugging, and to reduce the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome from repeatedly mashing the ESC key. It simply patches out those abrasive intro movies, so you'll never again have to have your ear drums blown out by "SUL SUL!".

The Sims CODEX - reviewed

I know last time I posted about this I got some comments pushing back on my use of AI for this app. I understand the concerns that people have, so i'm trying to be more thoughtful going forward. I have never used AI like this in the past, it was simply because I got given "Free Access" with the purchase of my new computer and I thought I would utilize the fact it was free to finally create something that I wanted. That free era is almost over but I won't be using it again.
I also got way more comments / messages saying how much they enjoyed the app. Thank you for both kinds of messages, good or bad.
After talking and discussing with people on both sides of the fence I have come the decision to hire a HUMAN developer to look into the app, look at its code, check for any "nastiness" that some people were worried out, and genuinely review and audit / fix any coding errors.
Going forward I will acknowledge that yes, the initial set up for this app was built with the help of AI, but future updates / current changes and anything else will be done by a hired human developer.
This developer gave me a comprehensive review of the app and confirmed there was no nastiness or weird stuff going on with the code - which I knew anyway but it's nice to have that confirmed.
They had some recommendations for some changes, such as as only allowing the app to read .package files / its own files. When "uninstalling" it should make sure it is only removing files it created - it should be doing that anyway but they recommended some more checks in the back end.
So they have edited some of the code already. But I hired them again to address the tightening of the code regarding the file reading and other recommendations they have suggested. Which again, has now been implemented.
So that being said... here is the Sims CODEX - again!
Note - The Sims CODEX is currently unsigned, so Windows / Some antivirus programs may show a warning. This is because code signing requires paid identity verification which displays my personal details. The app is offline, reads local Sims 2 .package files, and has had its source reviewed for unsafe behavior.

Today, I want to bring you something very special—something we once had the pleasure of enjoying in The Sims 2 thanks to @s1ndle: Mortimer Goth's hairstyle! 🎉
✨My work focused on recreating the beta textures for this hairstyle, giving each strand of hair a more defined and distinctive look to capture the unique style seen in the early beta versions of The Sims 2.
Here’s how it looks in all four colors + a gray version for elderly Sims. Fun fact: Why did I give this hairstyle that name? In the Spanish version of The Sims, Mortimer is called Homero.

For years I used Pescado's comm-skilling mod. Until I modded a crafting station this spring for @yoursingrey (unreleased) and ran into massive problems. We wanted functionality similar to @gummilutt awesome Autonomous Crafting for Teens/Adults/Elders on all lots mod. (here) It took me a while to realize that it was not the coding I did for the crafting station, but Pescado's mod—some situations were still not allowed.
So, I went over the code with a fine-tooth comb. In addition, I separated out the three systems.
You can now choose what you like:
Skilling, Enthusiasm, and/or Badge gain.
It is a global mod. It will cause a lot reset when put into or removed from the game. Always run the HCDU after adding a mod to your game to search for potential conflicts.
