In their shared moment of silence, Red could feel the pair of unfamiliar eyes on her; almost if the man was studying her after their hands had touched. She couldn’t blame him, of course; it was her own carelessness which allowed the moment to happen, and between two people who didn’t know one another, no less.. in some way, she was sure that she had made him uncomfortable. It was somewhat reassuring, however, that he did not seem to be upset by it; and instead cleared the air between them by finally introducing himself.
It was in that moment that Red finally allowed herself to gaze up at him once more, truly taking in his features now that her vision was no longer clouded by embarrassment and exhaustion. Ravus.. it was such an interesting name to her; one that sounded so proper that it perfectly matched his appearance. Though, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t quite get a read on him– was he upset with her? Or perhaps confused at her presence? What was it that made him continue to stare at her?
[ .. what, you never seen a pretty woman before or something? ] Red suddenly gasped at the comment, colour flushing her cheeks as she knocked the Transistor with her heel. [ Hey– ow! What was that for– ] But, undoubtedly, he knew what it was; and all the voice did was grumble in response. [ .. sorry. ] Making a noise akin to someone clearing their throat, the now wooden weapon decided to start over from the top.
[ .. Ravus. Okay. Hi. ] still not the best, and the woman could only hold an apology in her eyes. [ This is Red. She’s unable to speak, so I do that for her. I’m the Transistor. I don’t.. normally look like this, but.. seems like those scientists like to mess with people a lot. ]
Once the door to the apartment opened, Red once more looked up at the man; blinking at his next set of words. They.. would be living here together, from now on– it was somewhat silly of her to be surprised at this, although she had almost forgotten the mention of roommates when she first arrived in Hive City. All Red wanted was to live here peacefully while she had to, and she was sure that Ravus most likely felt the same. Despite the way that they had met, perhaps it was possible to move on from it; a more positive relationship would be better than anything, after all..
As a thank you, she gave Ravus a small smile and a nod, walking past him to enter the apartment. Blue eyes surveyed what was around her; neither impressed nor displeased with what the Hive had to offer them. [ You too, huh. Well, we’re definitely not in the lap of luxury out here. But, like you said, maybe we’ll get lucky and get out of here sooner than later. ]
so the weapon did speak afterall! his gaze fell back down to it briefly. to its silly comment he only had time to look at it incredulously, furrowed brows before one raised . he felt the need to reply back, but the woman took care of it for him. he swallowed the feeling with wonder. weapons imbued with spirits were not uncommon in his world, but were more prophetic and bonded after the king had died-- akin to legends attached to their preferred weapon. the bloodline of kings could use that power...but what did that mean for red here? and the transistor. what types of spirits did they have at home?
“ lady red. transistor.” pleasant, easy, the names come as if he’s greeting guests, a nod to each as they past him by. “ i can only wonder what form you take when not a reduced to a plaything ” a fancier glaive? another human perhaps? what a terrible fate to befall it, indeed. May he be lucky and his form remain. “ the very least, your facility for words has not been taken from you.... for better or for worse.” ah, a joke, sort of.
he followed them inside. the door closed behind him without a sound. the district came with a presence that if disturbed, cautioned to keep noise to a minimum. ravus hummed in thought, moving to the middle of the apartment by red. he assured it safe up to that point, then stepped away, pushing in doors to see them empty and figure out where everything was at. there were.. basic necessities. a bathroom, kitchen, common room and personal rooms and through one of the them a window opened to a view of the dingy district and factory smoke rising over buildings. he turned back to lady red and her companion. his shoulders finally relaxed a little, and those different colored eyes trained on her with a rare tiredness...
“ let us keep our eyes and ears out for anything better. i am not unused to deplorable stay-places but if i should leave before you i should hope i can extend to you that same offer whereever my lodgings may be. just by the look on your face, lady red i can tell this is far off from where you came from? ” that and her attire didn’t match anything he had seen throughout the day. but commenting on her nice clothes would illicit another remark from the transistor, he guessed.
